Background/history of Shelby GT 500

Recently bought a 2007 Shelby GT 500 signed by Carroll Shelby. Any ideas on how I can authenticate the signature? or the history of this specific car?

SAAC maintains the official registries of Shelby vehicles. I'm not sure if the registry is public, although you should be able to ask them for verification.

Carroll Shelby signs the plaques in exchange for a minimum donation to his designated charity, so anyone can purchase one with the vehicle VIN on it. Cars produced or modified by Shelby Automobiles will also have a CSM number.
