The SCCA is going to be holding a Performance Driving Event (PDE) at Hallett on the 21st and 22nd of May (Saturday and Sunday). This will be similar to the standard High Speed Touring, except that there will be more structure and instructors provided. My understanding is that you will run with an instructor until you are approved to "solo" or unless you can show that you are qualified from previous events like SVTOA On-Track, driving clincs, etc. There may still be a qualification process, but the sign off should come quickly to those with experience.

The best part of this whole deal is that the entry fee is only $100. That is right! $100 will get you Saturday, or Sunday, or BOTH! I can't believe they can afford to do both days for $100, but it's true.

I am looking for links to more info and entries, but having difficulties finding direct links. You can go to http://www.scca.com/Club/Club.asp?Id...0&x=030|010&~= and then click the Performance Driving Event. This will give you the national information. The local information can be found on the Wichita Region SCCA site at http://www.wichitascca.org/ and then select the May21/22 event link and the PDE entry form has a link there.

This is an incredible price for track time with instruction. You will also get to see lots of SCCA racing. A great time for any auto enthusiast.

Let me know if you need some more information and I will see what I can find out.
