Lightning fest on track

Well guys I just got back from Topeka. Myself and my buddy ran our foci on the road track at lightning fest!!!

Here is the general story.

I ran a 16.1 at 88.9 at the drag strip. How does that sound for an SVTF with a short throw and K&N?

As for the on track!!! WOW!!! You guys who didnt make the trip (especially those here in Oklahoma) really missed out. CDsilver and I tore up that track. My other friend JOE timed us around the track while he was shooting video. We were hitting 2 minute lap times on a 2.1 mile track with only 3 passing areas that were from 1/8 to 1/4 of a mile. We were running 5-7 solid seconds faster than the lightnings.

I even had the pleasure of watching a viper push his car so hard trying to get away from our foci in the corners that he went off track!!!! I have a great shot of me going around him that will be sent on my CD I purchased in a week or two.

Thanks for coming out to be a part of the "on-track performance driving" during LightningFest... it was great meeting you and always a pleasure finding fellow SVTOA members who KNOW there is much more to having fun with their vehicles than a 1/4 mile-straight at a time!

Now... about Texas World Speedway... Oct 1-3... COME ON DOWN!!

Thank you Jeff for having such a great crew of instructors there for us. I wasnt really happy when I sold my lightning but having guys who drive really fast porshes and vipers tell me what a great car this SVT focus is and wanting to get in and drive it or instruct me was a huge ego boost and after being on the track for the first time with it I know why they were so excited about this car.

As for the next SVTOA event...I wont be able to make it but CDsilver, silverstreak, and I are all hoping to hit the next SVTOA that is close to us.

I'm a little late to this post, Im the SLOW svt that was out there. My very first time out on the track and Had a great time. And yes the other 2 foci passed me But I was a lil wuss and didnt push my car as hard as they did!! U crazy *******s! Anyways I learned so much and cant wait for the next one!!!

It wasnt a matter of pushing our cars that day. I had a ton more speed that I could have left out on the track but you are correct it was a first time for all 3 of us and a learning experience.

I would have had some pictures of your car but you never stayed on pace with us. When I get my CD from the track photo guy I will see if there are any of you in the pictures.

lol. you must have very good trust to let someone else drive!!
if id let any of my friends drive i wouldnt be learning i would be crying, lol.
i only trust myself to bring the car back to the pits in one pie ce.

Well my instructor took my car out for a few recon laps with two other people with us. He drove the car pretty hard on one lap. When we got done my buddy and I were like "no way and I going to drive that fast". YEAH RIGHT!!! After the first lap we were gone like mad. My car is a daily driver and I still didnt worry about pushing it too hard. 1mortoy's car is not a daily driver so he has no excuse. (just kidding you bro!) We all learn at different speeds and with racing that is literally and figuratively.

WE ALL did well on the track and before you know it all 3 of us will be bumper to bumper when it comes to confidence and knowledge.

Haha mines not a daily driver but I dont drive it hard!

Well only a few people have drove my car but if sombody gets in the seat they better have a better and faster car than mine.

Yeah, I learned so much that day Im still in ahhhh, the next day I wanting to get back out there and do it agian, but it was all over.

I would have to say my car did really well, My brakes felt good and didnt have any problem getting traction, my tires rubbed a little bit, but Im glad I brought it up about a half of an inch before I got out there.

Hey guys, Sorry so late on this issue, but 1mortoy i know that I have a pic of you and me between turns 10 and 11 with me going into turn 11 and you coming out of turn 10. Its a sweet pic.

1mortoy you are right. I had to go and hang out with about 200 12 and 13 year olds and all that I could think about was the track time the day before. I am hooked. We have all (SVT foci owners) have got to do that at least once. It was the best time. Thinking about that now I still have a big ***t eatin' grin on my face.
