SVTOAOK September Driving School Sept 18th

Yes, in preperation for The SVTOA Regional On Track, we are having another driving school September 18th. Tell all your SVT driving buddies about this one because the 20 or so slots we have will fill up fast. Experienced instructors will be on hand to offer advice on driving skills. Here are some of the topics that will be covered:

    Steering techniques
    Lane Change exercise
    Braking Techniques
    and more...

You will find yourself on the track for the better part of the day, all for $30.
We had a great turnout in may, and the nice fall weather should make for some great driving.

This event will take place at the Oklahoma Sheriff's Driving Range in OKC. Visit www.svtoaok.com for a map of the area. This course is a very unforgiving track, so it will be a great track to prepare you for the On Track at TWS in October.

Registration Priority goes to SVTOAOK members first, SVTOA members second, and guests third.

oh yeah, I guess we should remind everyone NOT TO SPEED around the sheriff's range. It is near FOrrest Park, one of the worst speed traps in the OKC area.

    great!

just a another bit of advice...don't bring R compounds unless you have driven on them before and know how they handle. Unfamiliar tires on this track will have your car wadded up in one of the far side ditches.

we're teaching real world driving skills anyhow, so you probably want to see how your daily driven rubber handles.

Well, I think I won't be able to make it after all. :-(

My in-laws from FLA are going to be here while they wait for their place in Punta Gorda to be rebuilt.

On 2nd thought I might just NEED the break! Just pencil me in please, but don't include me if the count is close. Sorry.....

What time does the event start?

  10. #10
Ok, Saturday morning the Tulsa caravan will leave from Ford of Tulsa South at 7:00 AM SHARP! We can't afford to wait any longer than that so please be there at that time. If you aren't, just get on the turnpike and start driving. That will get us down there at 8:30 or so. If the South location is out of the way for you, hop on 44 and wait at the first turnpike gas station and watch for us to blow by. My mobile is 918-808-6012. Ring it if you want to know where we are.

OKC people, try to wander over by 8:30, we'll have a little meeting with the instructors then get down to business.

I may not be able to arrive until 9:30/10:00. Will that be a big deal? How long does the event last?

  12. #12
you will probably miss the first and maybe the second events, however if there are a lot of cars you may only miss the first event.

9:30 or 10 should be OK, but show up as early as possible. The morning exercises are your chance to get up to speed before running the full course.

We're usually done by 4:30 or 5. You can leave earlier if you've had your fill.
