    Question Suspension upgrades - anyone

Has anyone done improvements to the stock suspension ie. new springs/lowered/bars etc that other than maybe look cool but can show an improvement in time/g rating that would justify the expense?

    TIA

(like the stock ride but wanting to go a little lower - stay with 17's and not rub at the worst of times )

I did Eibach Sportlines. Feels close to stock. Maybe a touch stiffer. No issues rubbing with stock wheels and tires.

Did those Sportlines lower your car? If so, how much?

Ended up being about an inch all around. I didn't measure before and after.

Here's a couple shots of how it sits with the sportlines:

    Hey Davan,
those are the springs i plan on getting as well, did you have any problems getting it to align properly after your springs, did you have to get a camber kit? Also, do you have aftermarket shocks or sway bars on that bad boy? BTW, it looks really killer!
    Thanks,

With the new stuff you are all putting on there, had it improved the handling or just made it different, or worse??

Just curious since they said it handled "really good" stock.?

Just installed the SPAX adjustables dampers with the BAT Springs. Lowered the car about an inch...ride is still great. Really levelled the car so the rear doesn't sit way up. Set the front to 4 clicks and rear to 3 clicks...stiff but not body pounding...much better handling and looks than stock.

I did nothing to the springs and shocks (daily driver), but installed new Ford Racing (Eibach) roll bars and love the improvement in body roll and increased traction in the curves. Definately worth it to me.

I've heard of people who put on Intrax lowering springs instead of Eibach because of the better drop, not to much. Do you really need to change anything else because the whole kit from Eibach is about $510, the springs and dampners. I just want it to look lowered, especially in the back, but have everything else normal and working just like it should stock.

I guess I'm a little late in replying... but better late than never!

A local tire shop got the alignment fairly close to stock spec, without a camber kit... close enough to prevent uneven tire wear, anyways.

No aftermarket shocks or sway bars. Just the springs, and front and rear strut tower bars.

Eibach claim the sport system drops 2.0" front and 2.2" rear. How come you got only 1"? also can u provide another link for ur pics, the above don't work.

The springs are rated for 2" on the base ZX3. The SVT, already being around an inch lower than the ZX3 will only drop the remainder... about an inch.

These pictures aren't very good, but show the drop fairly well. they were taken last year right after installing the springs.

Here's an updated shot with aftermarket wheels.
