Talking Gears & Ears This Sunday!!

Sunday 6/27 is the Gears & Ears show. Stop eatting on Friday as your entry fee includes a tee shirt and all the Sweet Corn you can eat! There is usually around 500 cars spread out around the Dupage County fair grounds. It is a great day and the weather looks good ( so far )!

Hope to see you there. Our plan is to bring 3 ponies and Scott is bringing 2 so we'll have at least 5 in our row!

I will probably head out there as long as the weather holds up. May bring a couple of friends. Rick, what time does it start and end?

    We'll be there about 8:45AM

It is our plan to have 3 ponies on the road and maybe a Vette by 8:30 AM. We are 10 minutes at most from the fairgrounds. After you go through the main gate go to the bottom of the hill turn left and go to the animal shelters. This will make sure you have shade in the PM.

You can leave at anytime but it really wraps up midafternoon. Free corn runs out about 2 PM..

    Lightbulb Well Sort Of!

There are prizes and awards. You need to understand that there are lots of door prizes and the awards are, well home made! The Hot Rod Club has it's members pick their favorite cars in a bunch of different classes. They then give cute awards. We won a wooden plaque one year with the Ford Logo on it, it was the Blue Oval award. Another year we won a plaque with two little match box cars on it. It was the 2 fast 2 something or other award.

The club does great gag like awards. They did a small toilet on a stand called the Butt Ugly award for a hot rod under construction with ugly paint. It is fun stuff and I believe the money goes to charity.

That's great because I was just looking for a place to hang out, see some cool cars, get some good food, etc. The last few car shows I've been at, they've had participant judging and, if you don't have a group of friends there, you're pretty much out of luck. Anyway, we'll see you there.

Just wanted to say that it was a very cool show. Over 600 cars if I remember right. Good cars, good food, good people. And good call, Rick. I wish they had stuff like that more often.

Talking It was a fun show!

Chris, it was a fun day. Almost 650 cars was the final count. We had 3 club members and 5 club cars. I'll post pictures later in the week. I hate sizing those dang things. Your car looked great!

I am still processing Sweet Corn. Man the food was most excellent!

    No show on the 4th

As much as it pains me I must tell you that we are celebrating Grandmas 92nd birthday with a family reunion at our house on the 4th. There will be Pony rides at the Lynch home but no official car show.

I am sorry to be missing this but I doubt Grandma will do another 92nd birthday!
