Thread: No carts this year, unless you have another place in mind.

No carts this year, unless you have another place in mind.

No JR Carts this year This is due to the fact that they have got a little big for their britches. They want $1000 UP FRONT and $1000 the day of for up to 20 ppl to race. Sorry but if I want to race a go-cart on steroids I'll just go drive my SVTF. Which brings me to the next subject:

April is a nice spring month for cruising. Perhaps we should do what we like best and drive our cars somewhere. Does anyone have a favorite spot they'd like to cruise to and grab a bite to eat? Preferably some place scenic (dogwoods are in bloom that time of year). I have some places in mind, but they happen to be in the Missouri/Arkansas direction.

One place I had in mind was taking that fairly curvy road to Tahlequah and eating a bite at Sam and Ella's (a chicken joint no less)

Is that $1k, just up front, or $2k total?

It sounds they are trying to avoid small groups, but we were paying $75/person before. It would only take 14 people to surpass $1000. For $2000, the price jumps to a minimum of $100/person, but it sounds like you get the track for the whole day, rather than just 2 hours or so.

That's a bummer, though. Based on past attendence, we don't have enough interested people to make either scenario work.

The cruise sounds nice, but is there a viable kart track in OKC?

No, it was $2k total for 3 hours.

    Brock,

The most we have had show up is 12 people for this.

the cost then would be $166 per person. That is way beyond what we did before.

The cost before was $75 and no minimun.

Hope that helps explain our decision

Thanks, but wasn't looking for one. I'm sorry if it sounded as such.

The number crunching was for everyone to see what it would take to make the event feasible. I'm hoping either 20 people chime in or someone knows of a (cheaper) track in OKC.

If we can't swing it, we can't swing it.

if you know of another car club that might be able produce those numbers we might be able to swing that.

on a side note they guy said something out of the blue that caught me as odd. He said we could meet but couldn't display any Ford banners and I never even mentioned anything like that.

Jonathan is checking with a place in OKC that we maybe able to do something similar at.

We will keep everyone informed of what we come up with.
