    Euro wheels feel different

This probably hasn't been touched upon by anyone cause few people have had the chance to drive an SVTF both with and without euro rims. I have and I can tell you there is a DEFINITE difference in the feel. I can't say it is all good either.

The GOOD though is that they seem to feel out and hug the road even better. Every drop or slight change in the road surface and the wheels are right there in them. This probably means they are heavier because I have noticed a LOT less (read no) wheel hop.

The BAD is you can feel a LOT more of the road through the steering wheel. To the point that it is almost unnerving. At first I thought there was something really wrong with the tires, like the car wasn't under control. Once I adjusted to it the feel wasn't so bad...you just have to accept that you are feeling a lot more of the road.

Oh and yes, euro wheels are about 10x harder to clean than 5 spokers....

Just as a side note my euro shows a shipping weight of 2499 lbs. I forget what my old one was.

Interesting. Seems more like a tire thing. Are the Euro's still using the Conti's? Perhaps it's a newer version with a slightly different compound or something.

Also, that 2499 lb. shipping weight is a bit amusing. The "actual" weight is much closer to 2800 lbs. I wish they were more like 2500 lbs!

same exact tires, aired up to the factory specs.

as far as the shipping weight, thats what's listed on the title, so until I get a legal document specifying otherwise I have to go with that.

I just ordered the Euro rims for my 02 SVTF...my understanding is that they are lighter than the 5 spoke...

Arrow Sorry For Changing the Topic

What I wanna know is how much better or worse those Recaros feel.

You have definitely become a wealthier source of information with that purchase "I" man.

(Perhaps a new Thread discussing first hand experiences with SVT "Base"(that's a laugh) vs SVT "Euro" is a good idea; I guess that would just be a one man show though.)

The best thing I can tell about the Recaros is that they have bottom AND back warmers. The bolsters are even higher so you don't move one bit when turning sharp corners and what not.

The Euro Wheels are about 1 lbs lighter (each), than the standard SVT Focus wheels. Confirmed.

well that's nice to know. I'll trade weight for a little harder to clean.

My red and black seats have the heaters in the seat bottom and the back! If your old one didn't, then something was wrong with it! or you didn't have seat warmers!

DONNO Just know I have butt and back warmers.
