Cobra R brake ducts ?

To make a long story short A friend at work has bought a 03 and want's my help in locating where he can purchase a "brake duct kit" that is used on the Cobra R . He tells me its a cabon fiber unit that attaches to the front facia and channels air to the brakes.So if anyone has knoledge of this part or kit can you give me the info of where and how much?

where's the ducting being connected at?

the cobra R uses a carbon fiber backplate that has a connection for the air hose. on the R, the one end goes where the fog light is and the other to the backplate.

i've been looking for this myself.

Hi Gabor!

An alternative to the carbon fiber pieces are some aluminum ones...Mirage Motorsports out of Chicago-land, USA makes a complete kit (backing plates, hoses and clamps. Their web site is http://www.miragemotorsports.com , US phone is 888-440-7223. Be sure and tell John that I sent you. Your buddy will have to come up with his own "connectioins" for connecting the hoses to be back side of the air dam (front facia), but that shouldn't be too difficult...

And, it was great meeting you this summer up at the Redline Rendevous at Mosport... it's great meeting people who are excited about learning more about their own driving skills!

Pics look good. I thought the duct would actually connect to the brake at the caliper and drive the air closer to the rotors?

I know he is not going to drive the car on the track every day but want something that looks profecionally done. Don't get me wrong I thing what you have done is great. I just think you need to drive the air right to the rotors to get max cooling.

ya...but if u get them closer....then the tires will rub on them eventually....the cobra r doesnt have them that close. they are actually the same as ours.

I looked at the kit you can purchase from Mirage Motorsports and to me that looks like something I could recomend to a friend I am sure there is a kit that is made from carbon fiber but probably is not a $100-150 kit, I am still looking for that kit and eventually will find it a day after my friend buys the alum. ones. Again thanks for your pics I think you have done a great install. Hey Guys... Here's the Carbon Fiber kit... If you read the installation guide the flexible hoses connect directly to the carbon fiber brake ducts, and the supplied clamps keep the hoses out of the tires...

The Cobra R setup is just like the SHM kit, the hose goes right up to the carbon fiber plate at the wheel. Use a few zip ties and the hose stays clear of the wheel just fine.

Tim and I are having some major modifications done to our '99 (Flash)....

next on the list is these cooling ducts .....

do you recommend these, or can we make something similiar on our own?/

I would buy the ones Jeff recommended. I have the carbon fiber kit on the R's and my 01 and it's deffiantely nice, but I really question if it is worth the extra $200. I will be adding the aluminum kit to my 95R this winter, these things need the cool air ecspecially at tracks like Road America.
