    Tire Wear?

My tires are starting to wear but it seems the tread is still pretty deep and intact, or so it seems. My front treads (Stock Conti's) have decided that the outside block and the little strip of rubber next to it must meld together. Is this normal? I thought that they were separate strips of rubber but now I think not. I'm not the only one, right? I have almost 8000miles on the tires so far and it's only happening on the front tires. Please, someone tell me this is normal! And about how far are they worn at this point if someone has gone past this point already and replaced their tires.

    Thanks

yeah i'm pretty much in the boat as you but mine a almost bald due to the fact of a few winter storms last year and a whole lot of tire spinning in the snow and ice. by the way dont use these tires in the snow now if you dont like your job on the other hand there your best friend. only 25000 km not sure on how many miles

you guys both need to take those into ford, have them look up the special service bulletin for the revise alignment specs, make them realign to those specs and replace the worn tires. THis is what I had to do.

At what mileage did you take them in. So far everything's been good and I don't think they're worn much. I'm really just asking if others see the outside 2 treads combine? What TSB # was it? By the way, is there any location where I can see all the TSB's for the car? And why have we not been notified if the alignment spec was changed?

    Thanks

mm....those are ok, I thought you were talking about the far outside. it isnt a TSB but a Special service bulletin. I think it is 16640 but dont quote me on that.

Doesn't TSB stand for "Technical Service Bulletin"? or am I just making S**T up here. Sometimes I'm full of S**T so forgive me if I'm being sarcastic. I'm probably just plain wrong here!!!

    Thanks

no this falls under a different classification. A special service bulletin doesn't necessarily fix a problem. Like revised alignment specs, different spark gap, etc etc. It doesn't have to be done but is there as an option in case a customer is unhappy with a cars performance. Think of it as factory authorized tuning.
