    Question diablo chip? any stories?

Folks, I'm looking to add some HP to my SVTF. I have been looking at the Duratec site. It seems to be a pretty simple deal adding a Diablo chip. or am I mistaken??? Is there anyone out there already using one? Any regrets? Has it gotten rid of the surging problem brought on by RLA-06 (car lurching at a steady speed of 60km/h in 3rd gear) Is there a noticeable difference pulling away at a light? I'm not looking to spend a lot of dough on customizing but I thought this might be a quick and easy customization that might make my SVTF a little peppier...

From the way I understand it is that our car doesn't accept a chip...the only way to do anything to the computer is to have it re-flashed. Which I did have done, if you want to read about it check out the thread "had car tuned by fordchip".

Speak with a Diablo dealer and let them know you have the SVT, There is a Thing that Diablo makes that plugs into the Port by the fuse box cover. Anyway they said it was like $600 something dollars though... I think it was focussport.com I spoke to about it but can't remember who it was for sure...

    Fordchip.com

I spoke to a tech. at Fordchip.com and he said our computer isn't chippable and can only be reflashed and I'd have to send mine in for their reflash; cost is $275 plus$15 shipping. Sounds great to me!

our computer is based on the same idea as the zx3...we can take the chip out, and replace it with another...ya, we can get it reflashed, but we can also get a diablo chip...they just dont make one yet...they are in the process...thats all

Must be the tech at Fordchip doesn't know anything right "SVT02"; if they were chippable wouldn't Fordchip just burn one for you instead of having you send the ECU? I met a guy this summer drag racing a ZX-3 and his Diablosport chip blew within 2 months, chips are so fun and try to get one exchanged...

She SVT IS NOT CHIPABLE ,, Yes some have a port for them but there will never be a company doing a "chip" for the SVT

What they are working on is tuning through the OBD2 port this is going to be STD from now on because Ford has stopped adding ports for the chips
