    loaner cars when servicing SVT

I was under the impression that the dealer was supossed to provide a loaner car for the period that they are servicing your SVT.

Is this not the case? there seems to be some problems with this north of the border

I still don't think the Ford dealers know about this program.... the few times I've had my '01 in for warranty work, they just look at me like I'm crazy when I ask..

Then they go get a rental car for me....

I really don't think it works like it should...

a friend of mine tried to take his SVT in for service (at an SVT dealer by the way) and they told him only for 5 days max, for a rental car, and said told him that was SVT tells the owners and what SVT tells the dealers are 2 different things

I just took mine in for service last Friday and was given a hamster powered focus bare bones. Then went on vacation to Disneyland and expected to get my car back today a week later. They told me that my tranny was sitting on the bench and I won't get it untill at least Monday and not to worry about keeping the car untill mine is fixed. When I got the car it needed washed and only had 1\4 tank of gas, so the rental guy waived me having to pay for gas too. Not as cool as the cobra, but free.

I always get comped a rental car here in CA. I think they give me a Focus everytime so that I'll truly appreciate my Cobra when I get it back.

When I took my SVTF in for the first time, I got some dumb looks when I asked about the loaner. But the service manager I delt with asked the person that deals with SVT and got everything worked out in a matter of minutes. He suggested that nest time to call for an appointment and they would have the rental waiting for me. But don't be afraid of asking them to call SVT for clarification. It works like the extended warrantee program.

Well you are always welcome to come on south with us. We'll treat you right. Strange that SVT has no control over Ford Canada.

Cobra owners RATE the Premium service--period. maybe non-SVT dealerships don't have to give in to this, but an SVT dealship damn well better do so. IF not, get on the phone AT THE DEALERSHIP with SVT. As a matter of fact, do so with the service manager right there. If the dealership still balks, then come on this site and SVT Performance and simply and truthfully trash them to all hell. Power to the people on this one.

If they only have Focus's to give out, then take it (for free remember) and have some fun.

    Even in the South

Had to explain..and show my SVT book to service dept...and I got loaner..When I picked up my car three days later [I took it there for front end allignment], it had 50 miles on it and 1/4 tank of gas..gone! I pitched a fit and went to dealer owner! Furthermore the car should have been washed and detailed..per SVT. My "technician" strangely enough..is NOT employed there now....and my car hasn't felt right since picking it up..........will return it this week .........

Unfortunately up here the loaner cars is different from dealer to dealer. It is up to the dealer what they want to do. SVT owner or not doesnt make any difference.

I am fortunate that the dealer that I deal with (of course our sponsoring dealer) gives me a loaner car while my car is in for service. I have never had a problem with them for this. They have a rental company right in the dealership and the dealer covers the costs.

It really is too bad that us Canadians dont get the same treatment as you US people do.

I am not complaining I am just stating that you would think that the treatment regarding this issue would be the same everywhere. I don't have a problem getting a loaner car but I know a lot of local dealers don't do it.

I like where I live and dont plan on leaving my Country.

It sure did read to me like a complaint.
I do agree that all should be treated the same but sometimes that just isn't the case. Are there many SVT Dealers up there?
