Hey guys. My friend has major issues getting info about the Focus ST he ordered 3 months ago. Anyone have any insight? He ordered it on July 27th. The order hit Ford about a week later. He still has no VIN# or any idea when, or if, it will get built. He's in the Army, stationed in Germany.

Simple: Have them call 1-800-FORD-SVT. Everyone with a Focus ST on order was instructed to contact the Ford Performance Info Center with questions on their vehicle order. Your friend should also have received letters, or possibly even a Focus ST shirt, hat or die-cast model, from the Ford Performance info Center during the delay in vehicle processing from Ford.
He only would have gotten the freebie stuff if he ordered an ST3 version. If he has an order number and the dealer number (should both be on his Vehicle Order Confirmation) then he can talk to Natasha @ Ford on Facebook, call the Ford Performance Group, or the dealer should be able to look up that information. If he ordered an ST3, they just started building those in October.

"ST3" is jargon for the options package. Ford also calls it "Package 202A". The base trim is the ST1 ("200A"). ST2 ("202A") adds the partial leather Recaros. ST3 has the full leather seats, HIDs, bundles the MFT/Nav that's an option in ST2, and some other stuff.
Ford uses the terms, too; you can see them on the order forms.
As razorbackmustang said, the first STs with the ST3 packages were built starting at the beginning of October. Some people had pre-ordered STs month and months before they were expected to be built. ST2 were coming out in September, so probably were building in August.
