Is it good to let the dealer plug my rear tire?

Had a screw in my rear tire and the dealer plugged it. Is this safe considering I am frequently over 100mph with the car? If you give feedback please also include something official (like engineers recommendations, tire manufacturer info and so on) My car is a 2012 GT500 with 700 miles on it and I want to be sure my tire won't just blow out at 100mph Mahalo

A lot of tire manufacturers get picky on whether their warranty covers a tire that's been plugged.

Tire Rack has an excellent article on this matter: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=77

I'd say it's your own personal call on this. If you're on the track with a plugged tire, I'm not sure if track rules allow you to run a car with a plugged tire.

I would not risk it on my car.

Is it patched as well? To be done properly it needs to be unmounted and patched.
