it would seem that way... every time I post something, there is rarely any response.

True enough, so I'll add something. I have a '98 with 143K on the clock that I bought new way back in the day. I had trouble shifting into 1st and reverse, and on advice of some buddies in my local SVTOA, had the shifter cable replaced (the bushing was completely gone!) last week. But the problem is at least as pronounced as before (although the shifts are much more precise).

I went for a test drive with my friendly mechanic, and he said that the clutch (or at least the pressure plate) is need of replacement. Now I can believe that, as 140 thousand miles is an awful lot for a clutch. I'm also wondering if they hadn't messed up the shifter alignment, such that it does not have full travel into gear.

Anyone have any experience with a similar problem?

I have to agree with you. If I need info I go to Contour.org. You just have to wade though some Bull S**t sometimes.

I love the sound of crickets.

Besides contour.org, there aren't as many CSVT's left as the years go by. Mine is over 145K and nearing retirement (not worth putting that much money into such an old car, despite my powerful attachment to it).

Well I have three CSVT's, one that I bought new and looks like it just came out of the showroom. The other two are "special". I go to CEG quite often and really get tired of the whining, and some of the things that are done to their cars??????????????whew!!!

Whats up CSVTFGM! Some of the drama on the CEG can get annoying, but I just try stay out of it and soak in the relevant information.
