To many bent wheels, replaced with 16 inch.

Over the past half dozen years Ive bent 5 of the stock 03 SVT wheels and ruined more tires. Plus the 215/45-17 don't work well in the snow.

    I give up.

I looked for a suitable replacement wheel / tire. After much research I went with stock 16in SVT Contour wheels and 205/55-16 BFG Traction T/A tires. With this tire wheel I get an additional .6 in tire sidewall between the wheel and the pothole/crater/bottomless pit. The tires are close to the fender but I get no rubbing. The wheels fit over the SVT Focus brakes with no problem and the off-set is such that the tires don't rub the fenders; at least on a stock suspension 03 SVT Focus. The wheels although smaller look pretty good with the same five spoke look and SVT center caps. You can find the wheels pretty reasonable on Ebay.

Just wanted to pass along what worked for me.

You should post a pic so we can see what they look like. As a truck driver having driven in all 48 states I can say I feel your pain on the bent rims. I'm glad we don't have the salt and road destruction problems it brings down here in the south.
