    Question SVT Focus Driving Lights

    Hello,

Have looked on Ebay, and searched through the want ad's cos my driving light got smashed up.

Does anyone know what other vehicles these lights fit?
Is there an online parts fiche to look up part numbers?

    Any good quality aftermarket replacement??
    Cheap homemade fix??

Any info is graciously welcomed, thanks.

If you join www.FocalJet.com there is a member SVTFordParts (Steve)... you can PM him for a quote. He works for Tousley Ford and gets FJ members the same deal on parts as Ford Employees get, which is cost + 10%. I think you would have to get both, but the way the SVT fogs get sand blasted so easily, it may be best to replace both of them.

Get the entire unit. Before, there used to be a part number on the glass, but no one was able to confirm its existence. If you can, I'd suggest getting some clear film like that you put on the paint and such, and apply it to the lens. It's holding up on my car.

    Lightbulb Replacement Lamps

I had an issue where I caught a rock, and shattered the lens of my passenger side driving light (I was surprised this was an actual glass lense). I researched the assemblies, and was just about to order a set for both sides. I then went to a local store, and they had a set of APC fog lights on clearance for $6 for the set (Yes, as in 600 pennies). I picked them up, figuring I've spent $6 on worse, and would see if I could get them to work.

Luckily, they were the same diameter lense as the stock assemblies. I proceeded to my local hardware store, invested another $3 in brackets to mount them, and I now have a set of new lights installed for less than $10, which look just as good, if not better than the OEM setup. They are much brighter, and look sharp on the car. It takes a very close eye to be able to tell they are not OEM.

I have factory HID assemblies on my headlamps, and the fogs match this setup much better than the factory ones did. They are a clearer glass, and have a more similar look to the headlamps.

I believe the OEM bulbs were 37W, and the one's I just installed are 55W. Having an electical background, I was able to determine that the stock harness will more than handle this added current, without any risk of heat or other issues.

I can post pics later, but now I am not limited to having to replace these with an OEM setup. Round fog lights are available just about anywhere for a lot less that we pay for the factory replacements.

This may not be a bad option for anyone else experiencing this problem. Let me know if you have any questions.

Google the part. I got mine 2 years ago but forget the source. I bought one only, it was the exact part and was reasonable $$
