Hi all, first post. I wanted to mention that I just bought an oem original cobra clutch and flywheel from a friend. He bought it from someone who had a 93 cobra r, and yanked the trans/clutch when it was brand spanking new from the lot in change for an aod. (so it's likely got the 20 dealer miles or so on it, but that's it)

anyhow, Since it's an oem cobra clutch, it seems to be different than the aftermarket "king cobras" the top is painted like a purple or something. Right now, it's lightly bolted to the flywheel, so I haven't taken the inside apart.

however, i'm going to bolt this clutch on and use it in my 86 vert that I have with a gt40p headed explorer engine I'm building.

I just wanted to be sure that I'm not ruining something that may be really rare or valuable to a preservationist looking for parts. Do they still make the oem original cobra clutches for your cars, or do you guys have to buy the king cobra clutches?

Should I just use this clutch, or sell it to someone doing a restoration? My preference is to use it, as I was going to mate it to my engine and trans tomorrow and drop my new driveline in.

Suggestions welcome.

(btw, my bro 50 proof just bought a 96 mystic yesterday, so you guys may see him floating around here soon)
