I have an 03 cobra & Im wondering if anyone here has the Bassani BX series catback system for our cars? If so, how fo you like it? Are there any other affordable or reasonable priced exhaust systems for our cars by other manufacturers?

The bassani sounds nice and deep. I don't know if the Bx is the discount one, but I would get the top end one that is stainless steel.
The Borla Stingers are also very nice, they sound MEAN with the stock H pipe and people love the sound. Not as deep as the bassani, more scream to them.
Your best best as far as money saving catback systems might be from Steeda or UPR (if UPR makes one?). Otherwise my advice is put the best catbacks on your car only:
SLP, Bassani, Borla Stingers, Magnaflow....
The Steeda exhaust is made exclusively by Borla, it's very nice as well. IDle sounds stock but when you get on it, the sucker SCREAMS.

The bx series is the non stainless cat back by bassani. I just cant justify paying $500 for a cat back system. Especially stainless setup because no ones going to see it. I also only drive my car on perfect sunny days so its not going to rust or anything. I just want something better than stock that sounds mean. I think basically any system will fulfill these needs! Thanskf royour input to by the way!

It will still rust. When the car is not in use and the pipes cool down for extended periods of time (even just a week), when you start the car and the pipes heat up, there will be condensation and the pipes will drip. It's weird that this happens, but I guess it's because the pipes heat up so quickly because of the heat that the engine produces, condensation forms. Don't feel too bad, I spent $750 on my Borla Stingers, 1st production run of them!
Unless maybe if you live in a dry climate with NO humidity, then it won't be a problem. I live in Chicago where the humidity is always pretty high.

Try http://wwwcompleteexhaust.com Mention you are a member of svtperformance.com and he will give you a good deal on Magnaflow catbacks # 15644 (Stainless Steel)
349 + shipping. bought mine in march. They are a little bit louder than stock at idle. nice deep rumble till about 3ooo rpm 3000+ to WOT it is wicked loud. They best part is that there is no drone at any rpm. It took 45 minutes to take stock ones off and install new ones. Went on with out any problems.

I ran aluminized (like the Bassani BX) Ultraflows on my daily driven 98 Cobra for 5 years. That catback saw rain, snow, mud, and anything else that the four seasons here in KS threw at it. I never had any problems with rust but I did keep the undercarriage relatively clean of salt and chemicals in the winter. IMHO, the water is not really a problem, it is the chemicals on the road that will cause the rust. If you don't drive but on sunny days, you probably won't have any problems. If you like the Bassani sound, go for the aluminized BX. The maggies are a good choice too and you get stainless pipes for less money. That is why they are so popular with the 03/04 cobra crowd.

Did he give you the 349 price?
You won't regret it. They are an awsome sounding catback. I get so many compliments on them.

i have the MAC catback system on my car. the system cost $400, and the system consists of NON-stainless steel that has been painted black with a high temperature paint. the tips are of course, stainless steel. the car sounds great, performance increased significantly by adding the system, and the $300 i saved by not buying a fully stainless system, will be used for other performance items. if you avoid driving the car through the winter (salt corrosion, rust) a stainless system is overkill in my mind. i've had a flowmaster system on my '87 gt for over 10 years driven through some winters and the system is still ok
i would have went with magnaflow if the made the mangapacks catback for 03 cobra but they didnt so i went with AT catback because it has a good sound for the right price 344 shipped to my door
