I just talked to the operations manager for Rt 66 dragstrip, he will be sending me info about a day at the track, probably only a half day for svtoa only, then they would open up for everyone else. I will need to know an approximate no. of interested people, cost per person will depend on no. in attendance. He also said that he will talk to the ops mgr for the oval track, but he doubts that will fly. If any one can can pull some strings to get ford involved, that might help us get on the oval. reply here or email me direct: tacatz1@sbcglobal.net

:D :D :D

Sounds great to me. I've never been able to hook on that track on test & tune night from people going into the burn out box with street tires which gets the starting line wet, basically just spun my tires for the first 60 ft.

If interest is low, you might want to open it up to all SVT vehicles and post on Stangnet, Corral, and Midwestfords. Just and idea.

I would like to try and keep the turnout as low as possible, yet make it affordable. The less cars at the track, the less wait time. I have heard of many horror stories about waiting behind 100+ cars and only getting in one or two runs. It will depend on the price for the track.

That's what has happened to me every time I ran there. Pay $10.00 to get in, another $20.00 to run and then only get two passes in.

Keep us posted!
If there is anything I can do to help, shoot me a email.

Just as an FYI, the NMRA will roll through for their inaugural event at Rt. 66 in July. Should be pretty awesome.

Any possibility of making this happen Tom?

We will be having a meeting next month, we can bring up this topic to see if we can stimulate some interest.:)

I hope you didnt give up on this. This year, even getting a small group like you suggested would be great. Maybe it will grow next year. Keep Scott and I posted on this. It would be a good thing. --- Early morning, donuts (the kind you eat) burning rubber, sounds fun.

 drive on

I showed up at 4pm for test and tune and ran all I wanted. It's after 5:30 that you get stuck in line and then theres the possibility of breakdown screwing up the track. Just never know.

Count me in for any events Pro Ford. I'd love to go or help sponsor etc.

So is there a local club starting or around here I can join? Please advise.

By the way, I'd rather spin donuts than eat them.

EH EH EH :D :) :bna
