THE ROAD SALT IS GONE; Christine Rohn-Tielke Assistant Chapter Director
Welcome to another car season on the North Coast – shows, track events, cruises, and just driving that special vehicle!
I was fortunate to be the North Coast SVTOA officer attending the SVTOA Chapter Leadership Training event in Atlanta in March. What a great experience! I met a lot of nice people, we talked cars, we discussed chapter events, we learned about different facets of chapter operation, we toured the Panoz factory and Indy car facility. And, I was lucky enough to draw a ticket that allowed me to drive a supercharged Panoz Esperante on the roads of northern Georgia.
SVTOA Chapters are supported wonderfully by the people of the national and regional SVTOA. The SVTOA Great Lakes Region includes Ohio, and is a very active region with a number of well-planned, fun on-track events scheduled every year. It would definitely be worthwhile to experience one or more of them.
SVTOA members have a variety of interests, and your North Coast SVTOA has planned and participated in several events over the past couple years. Yes, we could do more – much more. But we can’t do it without the help of each and every one of our members! We need your input and your attendance. Come to a meeting (drive your SVT responsibly, of course), consider your interests, and get involved. You’ll have fun!
THIS YEAR; Neil Berry Chapter Director
The season is wide open with possible dinner social events, dyno day social events and other car social events. I can attest to how much fun you can have when you actually drive your SVT product in a controlled high speed event. We must maintain a solid base of National SVTOA memberships to keep this chapter alive. Our Chapter dues are $0, so please let’s keep finding other National SVTOA members to join in the fun. Encourage your non-SVT ford fans to attend SVTOA On-Track Events and join National SVTOA to possibly save entry fees.
