DVSVTOA's Rally through the Cradle of Liberty will be held on Saturday, April9, 2005.
The Rally will be a tour through the city of Brotherly Love.
This is NOT a speed event.
It is about following directions and acquiring points along the way.
Ralliers will be given a detailed set of directions and a list of questions. The answers will become apparent along the route and correctly ansered questions will be scored as bonus points.
This event is timed to be run at the posted speed limit. If you arrive at the finish line early, 100 points will deducted for every minute that you are early. If you arrive at the finish line late, only 10 points will be duducted for every minute that you are over. The idea is to drive slow and rack up bonus points. The hightest point total wins.
Staging area for the rally will be the Holiday Inn down by the sports/stadium complex in South Philly. Drivers meeting is at 10:00am and drivers will be dispatched from the staging area in 5 minute intervals. The end of the rally will be at Red Bank Battlefield Memorial in National Park, NJ. (Right across the river from the starting point)
After the rally we will caravan to nearby Hollywood Cafe on Route 45 in Woodbury, NJ, for lunch. (about noon-1:00pm)

If you are doing the Rally, here are some things to consider.
Philadelphia will be deserted on a Saturday morning. No rush hour! We will have the whole city to ourselves.
You need a Co-Driver/Navigator.
You should bring a map of Philadelphia for reference.
You should bring something to write on. A clipboard will work great.
You should bring a cell phone.
You should have a full tank of gas.
Staging Area:
We will be starting the rally at the Stadium Holiday Inn, Interstate 76, Exit 350(7th Street). This is a landmark building that can be seen from the Walt Whitman Bridge. If for some reason we can't use this facility, We will stage for the rally a few blocks east, at the food distribution center.
