That was fun. Got to meet everyone, talk "SVT" all day, and learned alot about my car and yours. Thanks to SVTOAOK, Chris at Tulsa Dyno and Curtis from Superchips. This is really a great opportunity for the SVT community to have a dyno shop and a tuner come together here in Tulsa. Until now we had to go elsewhere to get these services done. My best numbers were , max power = 444.1, max torque = 469.1. I learned that my cold air box sucks (or doesn't suck enough I guess). I am not sure how to convert this to actual horsepower. If I add back the 20% loss to the rear wheels, that puts me over 500 actual HP and I know I don't have the mods to make that kind of HP. Can anyone teach me here on this one? What did you learn from your run?

you should have been there when Curtis hit 597. I came back just to see him hit 600, but hey 597 is close enough. The guy knows how to tune.
Now I want to see all of these beasts out on track next month for our lapping day!

Why is it when a Cobra dyno's and they get 400-500 at the wheels they make excuses on why it was not higher, but the Focus guys take their 150 and go "kick ass!" I gotta give it to the Focus guys; you appreciate what you got with no excuses. I'm not doggin Cobra pilots just something I've noticed with some consistency.

good question, since the cobras are underrated to begin with, I would be happy to get more than what the engine is rated at the crank.
kinda funny with the new adrenalin having the 03/04 corba motor....
390hp *wink* *wink*

My Cobra is not stock and was tuned to reflect those mods. I have added a few things since that first tune and thought I might see a difference in the numbers. I didn't. You are quite right that more horespower does not equal faster track times. Hallett is the perfect example. I get passed by less powered better drivers all the time. See you out there.

The generally accepted method for a standard trans car is to add 15% to the rear wheel numbers to get flywheel numbers. 20% is for autos. However, those numbers were derived many years ago when drivetrain losses were of no concern to the manufacturers. Transmissions are much better now than they were even 10 years ago.
