Cobra R Wing?

I am considering getting an R wing for my 2003. No, I did not order my 03 "wing delete", and I wish I had. I have an in-law that paints for a Ford dealer, so the install and paint will be a cinch. Any thoughts on this or am I the only one interested in a R wing? I know it's no R, but the original wing.... well you know, I'm just not too sure about it. Any others thinking about a wing swap in their future? How do you guys think it would look (assuming you remove the 03 wing of coarse).

That thing is ugly. I had the Steeda wing in my old mustang and kept on hitting it, and that was a small one. Besides, when opening the trunk you may hit the rear window with it :bash:

I would for shure go for it I would send you a pic of mine but all my pictures are two big and Greg wont let me put them on the site he thinks they have a bud on them!!! But I put a cobra r wing on mine and it looke great everyone loves it. It made the car look so much better, Trust me go for it. And no it does not hit the back window. It looks great!!!!;)

I think the wing would look great, I also think the front splitter would look good. Rachrse

i like the "R" wing...as long as it is the real ford piece...or the cervinis piece with the angled stanchions...:D

I like the R wing but not as an everyday piece of the car. It will bring too much "police attention"

I'd like to locate a replacement trunk, mount the R wing to it and have it painted. Then I'd mount it for road racing events. I've heard that the R wing is very useful at 140+ mph.

If you go for the R wing, think about leaving the aluminum end plates unpainted...I did on mine and it looks better IMO...

p.s. Unless your driving deserves it, I wouldn't worry too much about police attention. I had a car pull up next to me at a stop light last week and it was - almost - only to compliment the car....

All I see there are pictures of a Cobra R, not an 03 with an R wing. Am I missing something?

I should have mentioned that I drive a lowly 01.....but I assumed that they are close enough in looks to help you a bit.

No problem with an 01... I had one. I still do not see any pictures of any car there except a Cobra R. Do you have pictures of your 01 with an R wing?

Wow. My bad. I thought that was an R. So you did the front end, wing, and what else? I really like it! Who painted the R wing and did you get drips on the paint? Did they hang it when they shot the paint? What did it cost you to paint and mount?

Ken,

It cost $300 to paint and install both pieces. I don't know how they painted it but there are no drips that I can see.

What else I have done is in my sig above...

Hope all this helps...I'm a bit envious of your 03...but I've done enough to mine now that I can't say I'm excited about starting over again...not to mention giving up 0%!
