I installed the Baer rear brake upgrade using the stock calipers and new Ford motorsport pads on my 1999 Mustang GT with cobra wheels and 275 Nitto 555 tires over the weekend The rotors are 13 inch cross drilled and slotted and look really good filling up the space really well. I now have an excessive amount of noise from the rear during driving and worse during braking. The noise is as if a card is stuck in the spokes of a bicycle tire and whines above 30mph. I had the installation checked by a reputable brake shop and all is good. They felt it was the slots working at the brake pads. I have called Baer twice only to be told that this noise is normal with this set up and should get a little less after the zinc wash wears off around 400 miles or so. It is due to the wind in and around the holes and slots during rotation. I am not happy with the resulting noise and answer to the problem and was wondering if others have experienced this as well? If I knew or was told this noise was created by the drilling /slots I would have prefered the solid rotors as an option. I also ordered the front Baer setup with 13 inch cross drilled and slotted rotors, calipers and supplied pads etc and was told that these do not make the same noise due to the fact that the fronts are vented. Any help and or ways to solve this noise would be appreciated.
