What is the bolt torque and sequence specifications for the 2002 Lightning transmission pan? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for the type and brand of transmission fluid they think is best?

When you put the pan back on pick a starting point and work around the pan tighting each bolt a little at time. Meaning that you need to get them all started. Then snug them tight with your fingers. Then torque them 108 to 132 in-lbs. That is like three trips around the pan or more. Do not over tighten them for you will have leak.Check your Lightning manual for the fluid.

Thanks for the info!! I suppose I should invest in a Ford shop manual but the $180.00 Helm wants seems a little steep to me.:)

You cna pick up a Haynes or a Chiltons which will give you most of the information that you need. Just get the one for the F150s it does just fine.

No they do not cover the lightnings. But they answer most all the basic questions on maintenance that we can do ourselves. Most of us do not rebuild our own transmission. As for brakes they are all pretty much the same.

The lightning supplement manual they are talking about does'nt amuont to much.
It shows the lightning dash layout.
Tells you what you are entitled to as a SVT owner.
Also gives you motorcraft part numbers for sparkplugs, oil, filter, trans fluid and so on.
It's a very thin booklet. If it were me I would go back to the dealer and request the lightning supplement manual.
Hope this helps
