Just a reminder to everyone, the cruise is on Nov 6 to Marble Falls, Lake LBJ.
Let's start getting some feedback as to who is going to go and invite some other clubs if you have access to them. Would love to see this be the biggest event we have had to generate some interest in the Club.

I really wish I could go along, but I have class that day. If anything happens to where I can go, I will let you all know.

I am in the process of getting a map with a scenic and slightly less boring route than straight up 281. Time shouldn't be any longer ( even at speed limit ) and I hope to have it soon.
I met a CSVT owner from Wisconsin who will be joining us as well as another SVTF owner from Austin ( who knows Phil apparently ) who will also be coming and hopefully getting other Austin folks involved.
I hope to have that info soon!!
Just checking to see if anyone is looking at the posts, but if there are some other folkes in the Austin area who are going on the cruise to Lake LBJ and Marble falls where and when are we going to meet on Nov 6? I do not plan to drive down to SA to meet the group that is going on the cruise. How many drivers do we have so far? Helen (wife) and I are going on the cruise. :hrs:

I'm still waiting on a map from my contact, so far it looks to start in San Marcos. I'll report more when I have more to report.
In terms of number of drivers I'm not sure at this point, I've counted about 7.
Thanks for the information. As far as Linda and Brad, Helen and I met them at the regional SVTOA event in College Station. I have not decided which car I will drive on the cruise SVTF or Cobra.
I registed for the last autox in SA, but I pulled a leg muscle Saturday evening playing tennis. :thud: I could hardly stand much less walk and I'm sure pushing on the paddles was not going to happen. I am planning on attending the ones in November. :hrs:

Just a bit of news. Britt has called the few people on the list with numbers listed to garner partcipation. I've waited for a week now for a map from LSSHOC and have gotten nothing so I'll devise my own. I'm going to be in court tomorrow for the accident and hopefully it won't take all friggin' day, if so I'll try and get one on this list tomorrow night.
We NEED to know ASAP who's committed to going. If we aren't going to get enough people to commit I suggest a back up cruise to somewhere closer.
Please provide feedback as soon as you can.
thanks!!!!!
Damien
Phil, sorry to hear about your accident, you missed one heck of a run. Well over 100 cars showed up but things moved so fast we managed 5 straight runs plus fun runs. I finally got to run with the race tires and I was floored by their performance. I took G stock ( for SASCA, spokes ran and that bloody Mini smoked me ) and ended up 31st out of the 100 plus people who ran. Very fun event!! Hope you can make the next one, Spokes is supposed to have one at SAR pretty soon, I hope to make that run as well.....

Rick,
My wife and friends Linda and Brad are leaving from the Austin area. Linda, Brad and I have planned to meet at the Home Depot off of 1431 and Palmer. As of right now we plan to meet around 730 and take off and meet the group coming in from SA at the final destination. I have not gotten a final destination at Marble Falls. :hrs:

This is the direction list I got from San Marcos:
Go up I-35 to San Marcos exit 123 into down town. from
down town find 12 north to Wimberley in Wimberley take
3237 to 150 and go left onto 150 follow 150 all the
way back to 12 north to where it becomes 3238 to hwy
71, Off hwy 71 take a left on 2244 to 360. Left onto
360 and exit 2222 take a left on 2222 until it hits
620. At 620 take a right and follow 620 t0 183. Go
left onto 183 to 1431, at 1431 take a right and follow
all the way to Marble Falls. To return to SA from
Marble Falls just take 281 south all the way home.
There is a map but it is very difficult to read. Anyone good with Yahoo Maps or mapquest map posting?
Austing folks: SA folks can meet you along the way but, and I can only speak for myself, I have no idea how long it will take us to get to a certain point, I'd suggest going together from some point, San Marcos does not sound like a bad idea.
We need to have a FIRM head count by Thursday night ( tomorrow night ) for food. And if someone has been to MF before, now's the time to chime in on where we'll be going, again, I've never been there.

Hi there,
Suggest San Antonio folks take 281 to Johnson City, meet with Austin group at corner of 2766 ( Robison Rd ) and HWY 281at around 9am. Cell numbers 210-865-2328 must be exchanged so the first group arriving can inform the other of exact rendezvous point.
Entire group caravan up 281 to EITHER :
Lower River Rd, turn left to Falls St, Turn right to River Road, which is located right on the south side of the river.
OR:
281 To Rocky Road, left to fork in the road, veer left ( south ) and follow Rocky Rd to left turn ( at Rocky Road again ) and follow to 2147. Turn Left to Cottonwood, which will head into Lake LBJ.
From here, I do not know what there is to do!!! I will try to call Marble falls Chamber today to get info on Lakeside park, a park in marble falls that might be nice and I'll ask bout spots in Lake LBJ, but someone NEEDS to chime in if they've been there before
Anyone who wants to join us Saturday needs to e-mail Britt at work TODAY no later than 3PM at aboneclinic@hotmail.com or call her at 210-849-3430 so food can be arranged.

I got some info on Lakeside Park:
It's located at 307 Buena Vista Dr just off 281 on the north side of the river ( or lake ).
Has all sorts of space, BBQ pits, etc. Looks like a good place for a picnic.
Saturday is supposed to be GORGEOUS!!!! I suggest getting there ASAP to reserve a good spot. I read the ordinances and it looks like swimming and dogs ( on a leash ) are permitted.
Since it's far for Britt and I, we may have to bring one of our dogs or leave early since we couldn't lock down a doggie sitter.
I went to yahoo maps and searched the area around the address,
307 Buena Vista DR
Marble Falls, TX 78654
330-693-3615
From here you can zoom out and get a map/street locations.
Are we ready or what!!???
Seer you all saturday morning!!
