A little slow around here....lets get some discussion going on.

Hey Neurotoxin. Know you from SCOA. Ya, this forum needs a kick in the butt to get it going. Doesn't seem quite as user-friendly, but that may change. I've been a member of both clubs for a year, and seen very little activity here. I'm trying to generate something with our local chapter, but getting nowhere. While you're here, you have any experiance with C&L MAF units? I'm putting one in this weekend. Looks simple, but I want to generate some discussion here.

No, I don't have any experience with the MAF sensors. What size are you going with? I imagine they are pretty easy to install.

It's an 80mm (think stock is 76?). Took less than 20 min to install, piece a cake. Butt-o-meter can't tell anything except longer screech 1st to 2nd shift. Latest article in 5.0 gave it a dyno'ed 9 more hp. Pics and info at: http://www.cnlperformance.com/index2.shtml
You still looking for a Borlla? I think they sound good, even though I got my Dynomax 'cause that's what was available to me.

Thanks, arboc. I'm putting mine on the dyno tomorrow, with & without the C&L. We'll see what happens. I have had a little drivability problem with it. See the posts in 1996-1998 Cobra Forum.

i just took a c&l 80mm MAS off my car and replaced it with the pro-m 80mm piece at the urging of Apex motorsports in santa clara, ca. they claimed that the C&L unit would limit the HP and wouldn't dyno tune my car unless it had the Pro-M...

Did they say, or did you notice, what the difference is?

they claimed that the C&L 80mm MAS would limit the HP to ~350
i know this is total BS because my track numbers before the tune were better than after...obviously i was running a bit lean before the tune.

so, i made 450 HP with the C&L and am making 442 now with the Pro-M.

it would be interesting to do a dyno session where only the mass air is swapped...

somehow they didn't give the C&L back to me, so that could be a problem...

A month ago I did a back to back dyno test with a stock MAF and the C&L, just because I could. Results were predictable, 12~15 hp gain. But one thing the guy running the dyno showed me is that the fuel curve was better with the C&L than stock. I guess this is something that could change with different units, over and above just how much air they flow. I'm not a good enough tuner to know how important this is, or how to take advantage of it, but it just shows there's so much more below the surface that can matter.

I think most SVT owners camp out over at www.svtperformance.com. I've been going there for over a year now. There are some knowledgable guys over there. I'll be checking out this site too more frequently. The SVT moderators need to be checking out what everyone is saying over there about SVT products. Everyone is very passionate over there about SVT!

Actually, then, we need to get the folks at Ford to read the postings over there. Maybe they already do.

this 5 year old thread should be deleted :bash:

Hey Greg I met you once in Sliverspring, MD a few years ago. It was the only SVTOA meeting I made it to. I think 3 or 4 showed up. Glad to see some guys still posting on here. I know SVTP is where I find most of the VA guys.

Good afternoon. Don't get on much but I do read and learn. The 96 Conv is getting old
but she still has a kick to her. And if I can kept her out of the wall on track she would
be in great sharp. But any snake driver knows what I am talk about went I say she wasn't
built to set in the garage and look pretty. Even though she does.
Any one knows of any update on the airbag sensors? I would like to update them, again..
