My car is in for service today. I have had a popping sound in the rear some where while making slow/sharp turns off of driveways and/or uneven pavement. Just a foot note my 99 had the same sound and it was never found in 95,000 miles. My 04 has had the exact sound from day one. I spoke to SVT this morning and they advised a TSB has been issued it is TSB 03-9-5. I was not told exactly what it says but it requires a few suspension items to be tightened and or re torqued. Picking up the car this evening. Will let you know if the fix worked. By the way the dealer knew nothing about the TSB and it did not show up when he ran a report for TSB's and recalls

UPDATE: the dealer called and said 'the noise I hear is my aftermarket exhuast rubbing against something when I turn. Therefore its not a Ford problem" I say BS to that for two reasons; ONE my 99 Cobra DID NOT HAVE an after market exhaust. TWO I installed the Borla on my 04 at about 5k I have heard the noise from day one when I bought the car so what a bunch of **** that is

I had a similar problem but only on slow left hand turns on uneven surfaces. Didn't notice the noise till after 15000 miles. The dealer did the tsb but no improvement. Then they changed the rear sway bar end links and still no change. Finally they replaced the rear sway bar and the noise went away. The tech said it looked like it was installed improperly at the factory. I also had to wait two weeks for the new sway bar. The dealer told me it was out of stock because so many were being replaced.. I was told that the way they found it was when they disconnected the rear sway bar the noise went away so they replaced it. Hope this helps, good luck

My 03 coupe made the same sounds and I was told the same thing (after market exhaust problem) by Southmain Auto (Blacksburg, VA) who had installed the cat back system. They said they had fixed it, but after taking it back to them three times without success, I went to the orginal dealership (which I should have gone to in the first place) and they found a broken end link on the left rear sway bar. It was fixed in less than an hour (under warranty) and the sound has never returned.
