The Arizona Chapter of the Ford SVTOA invites you to our September 2004 event. On September 11, 2004 we are visiting the Pima Air and Space Museum and the Titan Missile Museum in Tucson, Arizona. We have arranged for group discounts at both locations, so it is a great opportunity to visit these two great attractions. The entrance fees are only $8.50 and $7.50 per person.

The Pima Air and Space Museum features over 250 aircraft on display over 80 acres and features enclosed hangar displays totaling 100,000 square feet. The museum enjoys an international reputation and is one of the finest anywhere. It is the largest privately funded aerospace museum in the world. Displays include one of the only SR-71’s on display and the completely restored B-29 a plane similar to the Enola Gay. Also on display is President Kennedy’s and President Johnson’s Air Force One aircraft.

The Titan Missile Museum is the only Titan II Missile site that remains intact anywhere in the world. This site went active on July 15, 1963 and was in service 24-7 for over 20 years. At one time there were 18 of these underground bases around Tucson. Talk about being ground zero! This is an opportunity to tour both above and below ground, one of the relics of the cold war.

We will meet in the parking lot of the Pima Air and Space Museum at 9:30 AM and start the tour. You will be able to tour at your leisure, take a docent led tour or a tram tour.

We will leave the Pima Air and Space Museum at 12:00 and cruise to lunch. After lunch we will cruise to The Titan Missile Museum about 20 miles south of Tucson.

Families of course are welcome.

Please RSVP to Tom Newhall, SVTOA Southern Arizona Director.
