~10.5#, besides more power, the cooler air helps prevent detonation, which on hypereutectic pistons is very bad...

only got new pistons and rods (forged). i hope i got news ones at least, cuz the old ones are in my trunk still (need as much weight over the rear tires as possible). yeah i was pretty happy with my numbers, i'd like to see a little more torque though. i am used to cars with a lot more torque ;) . i don't know when the powerpipe is going in, anyone think they know the best powerpipe for a vortect w/ aftercooler on a 2001 cobra (or is AFM the only choice?)?

i think the afm piece is a good choice because it is mandrel bent tubing, not a cast aluminum piece like the competitor offers.
there are always choices!
you want to find a home for those old pistons, maybe i could take them off your hands...i bet i could make a full set with the ones from my first (blown up) motor
:D

thanks for the info. i'd seen some pics of the AFM powerpipe and it looks kind of "ghetto" maybe it was just a bad install.
they are the original pistons (which suck), plus one rod might be bent because a 48# fuel injector was stuck open and filled the cylinder up with fuel...

i have the stock 3.60inch pulley on, and my AF ratio is always about 11.0 and i have 48# injectors and pretty beefed up fuel pumps, power pipe and pulley should def break 500rwhp, right? i got 12mpg on my first take of gas with boost... :( but i did a lot of "testing" :D this tank is looks to have a little more stamina...

now to get as much of that power to the ground as i can... :)
major supsension work to come. only two supsension mods to go with the all the engines mods... i'm not looking for a pure drag race car setup (or id swap the rear out), i like turning when i need to :D i didn't think the subframes would make too big of a difference until i got the car back and i could feel the bumps in the road significantly more.

have you put in a pinion snubber for the IRS, I found it helped a bit with the wheel hop.
As for me, If I break the rear end, then I'll put a solid axle, until then, it will stay with IRS ;)

no mods except gload brace and subframes. wheel hop hasn't been too bad actually... tires spin a lot no traction, would have expected a lot of wheel hop... ?
