We have a 03 Cobra convertible which has 26000 miles on it. Since new the rear brake dust has been crazy. The dealership has informed us that this is normal. I have owned numerous 4 wheel disc brake auto and have never seen the rear do this before. They also have informed us that at 30,000 miles we will new to replace the rear pads. This is a daily driver by my wife. Any suggetions out there, is this normal.

I had an '03 with 36K on it and was still running the OEM pads front and rear. It was a daily driver and had seen one on track event. You need to change your pads when they are worn out, regardless of what that idiot told you. That could be <10K miles or >40K, depending upon how you drive.
And yes, the rear dust is a pain.

Reportedly [I do not have personal expertise in this] changing the brake pads to ceramic ones will alleviate the brake-dust storm. Two of the manufacturers' names i have heard are "Mad Performance" and "Carbotech", so you might do a websearch on those.
And of course check with your Ford service manager to make sure that any such change won't jeopardize your warranty.

When changing pad to different style, be sure to consider how greater heat might effect stock parts (brake lines can fail, rotors can warp). Be sure to make sure the new parts all work well together
