 O.K. someone make up my mind. The wife said I can have an 03 Cobra but I have to trade in my Bullitt. I hate to lose the Bullitt but I test drove a Cobra and fell in love with it. I paid attention to the problems and it didn't seem to have any, how long did you have your Cobra's before you noticed problems if any. So what should I do. and no bias opinions:haha:

The Bullit is a nice car, if I had one and money was not an issue, I would keep it as a collector item. I owned a nice 2000 Acura 3.2 TL and I loved it, however while surfing the web I ran into the SVT site and as soon as I saw the specs and pics I REALLY wanted the new '03 Cobra. All it took to convince me was the test drive. Next thing I knew I was driving the Cobra home. I gotta tell ya, people admire this car, kids run to check the car closely and start drooling, at the stop lights all drivers stare with approval, other mustang owners chase me on the freeway to check the car and they pace me, I already had a couple of "races" with M3 drivers, and they didn't stand a chance. "I thought it was the cheap Mustang, I didn't realize it was the Cobra" said one of them with thumbs up. ;). He was yelling behind me at the stop sign.

I have 3500 miles on my Cobra.Had some of the common first run issues but all are fixed, they all showed up from day one.The car is now perfect, would not trade it for anything. The bullets are great as well but the Cobra is a whole different beast. Also the performance gains for low cost bolt ons is mind boggling.Go for the Cobra!!!!
Wouldn't give up the Cobra for anything else!! Absolutely awesome performance, comfortable and, even though mine was an early build, I guess I'm fortunate in that I've had zero problems. The car is tight, shifter is smooth, doesn't pull left or right, doesn't stall, etc. In short, I'm totally satisfied with exception of the IRS "clunk" which I expected. Go for the Cobra!!:cbra: :cbra: :cbra: :bna :bna
> how long did you have your Cobra's before you noticed problems
Two weeks.
1. Rattle at junction between passenger seat and passenger side door panel.
2. Popping noise from rear when turning. Check swaybars, shocks, halfshafts.
3. Loose handbrake.
4. Intermittent stalls. Air turbulence over the MAF spiking the voltage?
5. Condensation in left fog light.
6. Sweeping idle during cold starts. IAC?
7. Hesitation at WOT as if plugs misfiring. Too lean? Too rich?
I am going to wait until enough issues arise to merit warranty repairs.
> So what should I do.
That is not even a fair question. 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra. Would you take the Carerra of the 911 TT?

5. Condensation in left fog light.
OXO3, from your list of problems that's the only one thing I noticed in my Cobra, but it happens in both fog lamps. I have to add a squeaky noise when the glass on the driver side goes up or down. I'll have them checked this weekend, dealer just told me to show up and wait while they fix it.
The hand brake in mine is as stiff as a stubborn mule. Put it in gear and the car will not move if the hand brake is up:tmb:

Hmmm....Well, it seems to me that those of us who own 03 Cobras already made the same decision you are faced with. We went for the 03 CObra instead of the Bullit :-)
But seriously, they are 2 very different cars in my opinion. The Bullit is really more of a collector car but is not that much more pumped out over a standard GT.
The Cobra on the other hand is a considerable performance increase over a GT or Bullit.
As far as the problems, I have all the usual ones, but have been getting excellent support from my local SVT Ford dealer, make sure your local dealer is just as good.

:tmb: Thanks for your input. I just can't give up the Bullitt so I'm taking a different angle and trying to convince the wife to let me have both. I will have to give her my 02 supercrew so she won't have to drive her precious t-bird in the snow:rolleyes: , but I think I can handle that:D

:D Well I got it an 03 Redfire just picked it up about 5 this afternoon and have already put 150 miles on it. So far no problems noted no vibration, ticking, thunk or pull of course on Missouri roads how can you tell. Thanks again for your inputs.
