This is the general summary of what we discussed/decided at the Biff's meeting this past Friday.

There were only a few members who showed up, thanks go out to those that made it down.

Tracy has discovered that San Antonio Raceway is available for rent for a fee of $2,000.00 with $1,000 due up front and is non refundable. With entry fees of $35.00 per member, $40 for non-members who pre register and $45 for non members who pay at the gate, we can cap entry to about 75 drivers.

This is not only give those who want to drag race PLENTY of opportunity but it will also go towards building a real treasury fr the club, whichi will only increase our chances of havong more events.

Feedback on this is greatly desired, those folks who will sign up FOR SURE please let Tracy know so that she may get a tally going.

Focus for the meeting was the membership drive. This event is very important to the continued success of the club! PLEASE help spread the word about the group so that we can build membership, which is vital to the club's survival.

We have decied that this will take place on Sunday, July 18th at Jordan Motorcars from 2-7pm. This will be typical show/shine fashion just like the first one. Food will be available again of course and we are still hoping to get that portable dyno, but no information on that has surfaced at this time. Any other ideas on what we could do please direct to me via this post or by email.

We talked briefly about the possibility to getting a "Patriot Day" cruise going on September 11th this year ( a Saturday ) and so far respose has been positive. Hopefully, we will be able to hamemr out some details soon, some ideas were to include as many special interst car clubs that will participate and proceed to cruise caravan style around San Antonio on either loop 410 or maybe even 1604, ending up at some park somewhere for a BBQ. The vehicles should be dressed up somehow to show off what we all are doing, or maybe just having the lights on or something with some kind of notice on the lead and chase cars.

Again, any ideas on this please let me know, I'd like to charge an entry fee so we can donate the proceeds to some related charity.

Tracy made up some really cool business cards to promote the club with website info, these can be given to prospective members or respectfully placed under the wipers of cars with no driver in sight. Spreading the word is where its at with this, we NEED to get known out there!

This was really all we talked about, the show was decent with plenty of cool cars to see, SVTOA S. TX will try to make a presence there each Friday, so please be sure to swing by as you can to join in!

What is the Patriot Day cruise and what is it to benefit?

Are the monthly meetings going to be on the second Friday of the month? Is consideration of moving the meetings to the weekend going to be considered.

Finally, this my first post ever. So I don't know how this is going to look. :wtf:

How are ya, Phil?

I DID actually email you the specs from the last meeting, you may not have received it though. We did decide to change the meeting to the 2nd Friday of each month, we tried to have the meeting at Biffs but we kept getting side tracked, I think we might keep it at Jordan but will try to caravan down to Biffs right after to hang out.

The Patriot Day cruise is just an idea at this point, I'd like it to benefit some organization that benefit's soldiers abroad in the war or folks helping with the 9/11 rebuild, but right now, it's just an idea. I'd like to get some real answers on who is really interested in something like this and if you all feel that this can really work or not.

It entails getting in a mass caravan and cruising around SA on one of the loops, possibly with Police escort or something, with folks decorating their cars in some patriotic fashion, to end up at a park somewhere for a BBQ or something along those lines. Again, these are ideas, if there is something else we could do, please chime in!!!

First post looks good! Remember you can always play with it if you don't like it.

Osiris, thanks for the information on the Patriot cruise. I think it's a good idea and if some corporate sponser can be gotten then more money could be raised. I think the cruise could end up at one of the lakes in the area to have the BBQ.

This method of communication can be very exciting if the members of the club use it. I have talked to Larry here at work because he is a member of the club, but I do not think he will continue his membership since he has no time during the week to make meetings or other things. I'm trying to get him to continue his membership. If the monthly meeting is held on a weekend then we all could cruise to some location and have some fun. This why I think the meetings on a weekend would be better. I don't even know if I will continue to attend the monthly meetings because Friday's are even worse for traveling to San Antonio. To bring the Cobra to the meeting I would need to go home and get it and that would even add to the amount of time to get there. I will renew my membership on the 18th when I get done with the auto cross at the Alamo dome. Here's am idea - do the renewal there so that people can watch. Something could be set up in the other parking lot.

I have already signed up and got my hotel reservations for the SVTOA national event at TWS.
