From what I have discovered, Seattle doesn't seem to have a mass transit system. If I'm going to tour Seattle, is it pretty much necessary to have a car? I don't guess anyone in Seattle rents SVTs :p
Also, what are some must see things to do and good places to eat?

Seattle does have a public transit system of sorts. There are lots of busses and a monorail system for some parts of downtown. Unfortunately the Seattle city government and public transit board are a bunch of ineffective lying (literally) blankety, blank, blank liberal chumps.
You are lucky you do not own a 2003 SVT Cobra in Seattle; the taxes alone on my tabs was over three hundred dollars!
Anyway I digress, if you plan on hanging around the city you can get buy without a car but if you are planning on going out of the city I would get one. Trust me, there is so much to see and do in and around Seattle that you will not have a problem finding something to do. Hopefully the weather will be nice as there is nowhere better when it is. There are lots of show and shines on the weekends at various places. I hope you enjoy your visit.

yeah sorry, i forgot about obvious busses. I was thinking more of like the El in Chicago.
i plan on going in late july, i figure it will be mild with less rain. You suggest any good hotels situated between Pike's and the International District? And what are the must do restaurants?

See Seattle (http://www.seeseattle.org/).
Hmmm, just off the top of my head, as I lived there for 40 years. :D
Things to see:
Jimi Hendrix Music Experience.
Seattle Center and Science Center.
Aquarium. (nothing like SeaWorld though)
Space Needle.
Pike Place Market.
Boeing Field and Museum of Flight.
Woodland Park Zoo.
Restaurants:
Benihana of Tokyo.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
Ray's Boathouse. (Ballard)
Any of the Ivar's Restaurants.
Pier 70 Tavern.
Hotels: (going to be really pricey to stay downtown)
The Madison Hotel.
The Fairmont-Olympic Hotel.
The Westin.
The Edgewater.
The Sorrento. (Old, but way posh!)
(I'm going by memory on those, as the names may have changed by now)
You picked about the best time to go for not expecting rain.:D
Oh, there's some KILLER go-kart tracks in the area.
If you're interested, let me know, and I'll get a hold of some more information for you.
Don't forget, there's a lot to do outside of Seattle too.
How long you going to be there?

We are going to be there for about a week. My wife wants to spend a lot of time in the International District. I found a place that is kinda in between there and Pike's Market, Executive Pacific Plaza. I guess we'll go ahead and get a car, just use Hertz so I can use my SVTOA discount.

If you have the time cruise over to Alki Beach in West Seattle.
Laid back even more than downtown.
(If you go to Pike Place Market, watch out for flying fish)

I'm mainly just going to the Market to visit Mecca....er I mean the original Starbucks. I will keep an eye out for the fish though.

Thanks for the offer, looks like we are going to take the La Quinta Downtown due to the fact that the Pacific Plaza wants $16 a NIGHT for parking. HOLY RIPOFF BATMAN!
