Has anyone tried synthetic transmission fluid? I headed to work this morning in 20 degree temperatures and experienced alot of gear noise and difficulty shifting.
Any thoughts on this??

Not much on an opinion here,
but doesnt our trans already come with synthetic already in it?
The "GM" synthetic I believe. I could be wrong. I
would really like to put synth in my motor,
5W30? maybe help my "ticking" a little :cbra:

I also have heard that the tranny fluid is synthetic. I put in AMSOIL engine oil. Engine runs cooler oil temp.
Yes, I do sell AMSOIL as just about everyone that uses it does because you get a great price break by registering as a dealer or prefered customer. Check out their web site 1st for all the spec. info. If you want to become registered with them use my number its #66180 & that will get you started. (www.amsoil.com )

I had read an array of opinions on tranny fluid but I decide on going with Mobil One ATF and I am very happy I did so. Tranny does not care if it warm or cold. On cold days orginal fluid did not like shifting till warmed up. I would not put GM fluid in my car first on principle and second because if it blows up it does not look at all like atf and thats is what is stock in the tranny. A member of my club told me I would be a happy and man was he right. It a mod that rewards you every time you drive the car with smoother shifting day after day. :D

Try using Royal Purple. This would eliminate the hard shifting in all conditions ( extreme cold to hot).
You may want to consider Group IV or Group V lubricants such as Redline D4 ATF.
