In case anyone is interested, there are two events occurring on 6/6 ...
- Mustang 40th Anniversary Celebration at Volo Auto Museum from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The Midwest Fords club is meeting at the Streets of Woodfield at 9 a.m. to cruise up there (go to midwestfords.org for info). We can join them or cruise up their ourselves.
- Stallionsgate.com's 1st annual all-Ford-powered car show at Arlington Heights Ford from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.; $15 pre-registration, $20 at the gate
It's unfortunate that these are the same day because each would be fun. I'm leaning toward Volo since I've never been there, plus there will be a wide range of Stangs.

So how was the big St Louis show? I have not heard from anyone but Scott who worked like a dog in the show.
I too would lean toward Volo. I love that place. I will have to check with the boss as we have our Super Trooper Meeting on the 5th!

St. Louis/World Ford Challenge 7 was great after the rain ended ... it rained pretty much all day Thursday and Friday. One of the more notable events occurred with the hotels on "Burnout Alley" in Collinsville. When I got down there, they had the "alley" barricaded, and Collinsville cops were motioning traffic through. When I got to the barricade, they asked me if I was staying at one of the hotels. I said yeah, and they said okay, you can go through. I talked to another officer, and he says, there's going to be no street racing this year. It was pretty sh@tty because there never has been street racing ... it's always been burnouts. In fact, a couple years ago, the state police sectioned the street off and "supervised" the burnouts for two hours. So the "night life" really sucked this year.
As for the event, the racing was great. Pro 5.0 had a pretty even split of IHRA, NMRA, and Fun Ford racers. Outlaw was awesome as usual ... Billy Glidden lost in the semis. My personal favorite, as it was last year, was the diesel class ... nothing like seeing 12- and 13-sec crew cabs :bna
Car show was 400+ cars. Lots of nice stuff, including Les Baer's Best of Show 69 Boss 429. My class (99-04 modified) was plentiful. I didn't place (damn black cars show everything) but it was still fun. I ended up meeting a couple guys from Oswego who have Stangs and will probably go to some car shows/events with me. I think the only other SVTOA guy there -- at least the only one that I knew -- was Lightning Bob.
Hopefully we'll have better luck with the weather next year.

Our Caravan last year to Victor Ford was a lot of fun! Should we caravan from the Rt 59 & North Avenue McDonalds where we met last year to Volo?
See you guys on the 5th and we can set details!

Here is pic from the last Mustang Show I went to at Volo. They do a great job and they are wonderful people. Really easy to work with.
