2003 Focus SVT

Hey guys....I'm looking to buy the SVT within a week or two! :D But then I got to thinkin..is there going to be a 2003 model...all of the Ford dealers act like its a hush hush thing...is that true? Just wondering before I buy! Thanks!

:tmb: Before I made the final deal on my 02 SVT Focus, I thought I might wait for the 2003 5 door since I drive the car every day and occasionally have rear seat passengers. So, I called the SVT 800 number and was told the following:

2003's will be built in December....arriving on dealer lots in Jan-Feb.

the 5 door will be available.

I decided not to wait. I am not sorry. Even though I only have 2 doors, the rear seating is comfortable for 2 adults.

you'll have the option to get two new colors and some different wheels....maybe even HIDs if you wait long enough....all the other options are staying the same. however, I highly doubt they'll offer 0% or rebates then.

My friend in Topeka KS. just told me that the new colors will be a limited amount of yellow and an orange. That came from the dealer he bought his svt focus from. The only new option will be the HID's. I think they are going to look like the lights on the svt focus comp car. They are really euro looking and have the turn signal in the housing instead of in the front grill.

Unfortunately production has not started yet. If you want to see the information has been updated on www.svt.ford.com and you can see the packages and pricing. Now here in NY they are offering APR deals on the 02 leftovers but not 03's. I hope that helps you out and take care Jim M.

I believe those two colors are the only colors if you get the european package. The european package includes race seats, different rims, and some other cosmetic changes.

Yea.. those to colors are part of the european package... yellow and orange, different rims and such... bit of a money grab but hey on the bright side... if you buy two, one yellow and one orange, paint a M on each one you have a life sized version of M&Ms, just with wheels :)

If you're up for waiting, they say the '04 model will be turbocharged w/ around 215HP or so. That's exactly what these cars need!

The Euro Package is like $3000 extra!!! but you get the HID's, te ST170 rims, and can get it in "screaming yellow" :spank: (and "competition orange")

The SVT Focus European Appearance Package takes it to a new level, creating the best equipped, most exciting production Focus yet," says Scarpello.

The package, offered exclusively on the 3-door model, features an upscale interior with European flair, including black leather-trimmed front RecaroTM sport seats with matching leather door panel inserts and rear seating surfaces. The exterior is accented by 17x7-inch, multi-spoke, dark argent wheels similar to those offered on the European "ST170" and two new exclusive colors, Screaming Yellow and Competition Orange. The Euro package is 3G but you get every available option PLUS the seats, wheels, and interior trim for that price so it's not such a bad deal.

I just found out the best news guys! I'm still waiting for the 03 model to come out in the spring, but my brother just told me that through his company, I can get a killer discount! He's getting an 03 F350 super crew with everything, he said stickers at 38K, he's getting it for 28K! LOL, he said I should get the Focus for under 15K...I would die! LOL so, thats my good news of the day!

The ONLY option I didn't get on my SVT Focus was the H.I.D. headlights. I can't believe they're offering them now! Don't you realize that this option alone justifies the additional charge of the "Euro Package". I wish I lived in a warmer climate like some of you ungrateful SVTers. Maybe then I could afford to make this modification to my car, instead of finding an alternate mode of transportation for the winter! NO FAIR!!!

Check out page 44 of the Jan. 03 issue of Sport Compact Car....details the Turbo Focus RS. According to the article, it's available only in Europe.....has a turbo, 218 hp, 18" wheels, 5 speed manual, Brembo 4 piston calipers, etc....

The car looks sweet....really love the exterior styling. I read in Car and Driver that this one will sell overseas for $31K U.S.

For that kind of $$, you're talking BMW....I love the Focus but no way it could ever be worth that kind of $$.

I got my SVTF on Ford's A-Plan. That's as cheap as you're going to get it. There's no way he can get a SVTF for $15K.

So when have people heard that the 2003 will be out? Anyone know about whether the HID lights can come on any of the cars even without the euro package? and last can you get the recaro seats and interior without getting the yellow or orange exterior ?

I hope you get a really good deal on your new car, but I was just speaking from my own experience. Alot of times people hear all kinds of strange things and often repeat them with minor embelishments ( remember playing password or telephone as a kid? )

If it works out for you I think it's great, but all I'm saying is I can't see how.
