I have heard about people using this stuff in the trans with a synthetic fluid change. Anyone have experience with this stuff? I'm trying to smooth out the shifts because it feels pertty "crunchy" in there.

i know from personal experience that friction modifier is used in rear ends, having installed many 9" pumkins in my 1970 Torino Cobra with 429 SCJ engine and c-6 trans and more recent in Mustang 5.0 GT's and lx's with the 8.8 rear end. have also heard of using it in the T-5 5-speed tranny. but i dont know its value or requirement with a synthetic fluid.

As far as using AMSOIL SYNTHETIC LUBES they say "do not use any friction mods". I have been using Amsoil since '78 & never had to add any additives. It sure helped my 4 speed shift in the cold after sitting out all night at work in the Wisconsin winters.
