Picked up the FR Upper Strut Bar 2 days ago from my local dealer. Only thing was that it was the only one and no instructions, no prob, pulled those of myFordFocus.com!
However, they don't actually specify what the torque setting should be when replacing the nuts back onto the strut tower.

I did go through the previous posts and noticed that someone had installed the Focus Central Strut Bar and was using 18LBS. but I just want to make sure that that is what the factory settings for those particular nuts and bolts. Also, does the proper torque setting vary depending on each individual companies strut bar? If so, then does anyone have then for the Ford Racing one?

Any help is appreciated!!!
Thanks!!!!:)

My Ford Racing bar came with instructions:D

18lbs is what the sheet called for on my FR bar too.

Check the clearance on the fuel line. On my car I had to work the line down a little to aviod rubbing and clanging.

Enjoy!

yeah i have the same brace,
18 pounds is correct,
i had to use two jacks to lift the front end so i could get the brace to fit on properly,
it takes time but there is quite a bit of play in the bolts, they will move its just a matter of tappin with a hammer and a block of wood

Hey guys, thanks for the help on the torque settings, started and completed the install in about 15-20 minutes with no major problems. About the only concern that I ran into was that my torque wrench only went down to 40Lb/Ft, but that's ok as I had a dealer check it with one with a lower setting and it's all good.

Have detailed pics coming in 5 days or so of the install if anyone wants to see (assuming that they develop properly), just waiting for my wheels to be delivered on wednesday and then get them on and installed (photo op)!

Dave, do you have a pic of where your fuel line was causing problems, I just want to double check mine and make sure that it's out of the way. As for the rest, only had slight interference from the clutch reservoir sensor, and was wondering if you guys had the same thing and left it or adjusted it and if you did, what did you do?

Thanks Again!!!!!!!!:bna

I didn't come close to the fuel line, but I did get close to the clutch res. (Isn't the clutch and brake the same?)
I'd like to see how close you are to the fuel line if you can post a pic.
This is the Steeda. No adjustments made to the brace or res.
