Most people are avoiding the cloth "bra" because they tend to collect dust then rub (sand actually) the paint off the front of your car. Some people are praising this one though:

No Problem.

I don't have one so I can't recommend it from personal experience, but I've seen it (barely) on a silver 03 Cobra and it looked good. :tmb:

Only if you REALY MUST and then please remove it right away. There are places you need them but I think they are ugly....just one opinion. :knock: You'll see. This is what you'll be doing in ten days.

I agree I drive the car 75 miles on the weekend in some rural area and the bugs are kind of bad I had one for my 2001 and just used it for the drive then it came off.

The thought of "gluing" stuff to the car doesn't appeal to me.

Personally, I've always had car bras and is a must for long treks and will get one as soon as they are available for mine. If you drive your car regularly wash your car regularly as well to avoid the collection of dust or if you're lazy, remove and dust!! ;)

I agree with you as soon as you know if one is available let me know.

The best stuff on the market to use is the 3M product that applies directly to your car. This was initially used on Motor Homes and had great result. I saw a new Thunderbird with it and it looked fine. It has to be applied correctly, however. It's easily removed with no damage to the paint finish. The only downside is that if a rock strikes it hard enough, it will split and need to be replaced for cosmetic reasons.

3M Invinca-Shield. See <http://www.invinca-shield.com/>.

Give serious thought to the 3M product. Although some may call it "glue on," they don't know the product. It's used now exclusively in the Motor Home market instead of the bras which scratch, create wear marks, and are not appealing to the eye. I'm referring to Motor Homes in the $500,000 + market. It's easily applied and removed if necessary, and costs are close to that of the bras.

I got two replies:

1- The guys over the plastic shield say it is resistant but if you get one of those nasty rocks it will crack and will need to be replaced, 3 year warranty. Just imagine a bunch of those tiny rocks hitting the car at 90+ mph. ;) Problem is if it cracks that means the meteorite hit the bumper as well.

2 - Autoanything, com replied saying that a bra will be availabe around the 1st week of next year.:D

I use a bra on my car, I only drive it when it is dry. I also remove and vacuum the bra every 200-300 miles. When I do this I dust
off the car and replace the bra. I've done this since the car was new it is a '96 and it still looks new.

Are you saying you have a bra for the 2003? If so where did you get it? part number cost the nine.

Thanks

I guess Autoanything.com gave me the wrong info. See below. We have to wait.

===========
Walt,

I apologize for my last e-mail. I was given some bad information from the manufacturer.

The story is that they just got a 2003 Cobra in their possession yesterday and a bra should be about 3 weeks out.

But as soon as I get word that it's available I will let you know. I do apologize for the inconvenience.

ive had several cars that i've immediately ran out and bought bra's for, NEVER AGAIN:mad: every bra that we've had has been a factory bra, & every bra that we've had has rubbed places in the paint, dark color cars are the worst. ya just got to learn not to follow to close on the highway & wash the bugs off when ya get home. all i know is, my sonic blue baby is gonna go braless:D deb

Got it at my local ford dealer 76 dollars.

RICKDEB

I don't leave it on for any extended period. My last cobra look like it had acne!
I don't worry about bugs because my car is always washed and waxed but it is the stone chips. I don't follow close but Where I live lots of luck trying to keep a good distanced from the car in front of you. Anyone I know who had bra problems either bought a cheap one or never took it off even when wet!

I just checked their site, and still does not show as available. Do you have to call them?

You whooo, ....just thought I would share my opinion.

I would only accept the use for a traveler on a trip, period.

Sorry folks, no offense, but ugly and risky for car, is just so true.

Too many people thinking they're safe when they are not.

Besides, Ford's paint jobs are better in just those area's than GM's chiplite speacials, I've learned from experience.

Thank you, and have a pleasant tomorrow, in your bra, or without your bra, who care's, why am I here, I'll just go now, and keep my opinions to myself.

Right off the box,but they call it a front mask.

Hope this helps, got it from local parts dealer, they ordered it from Covercraft

Much prefer panties IN my Cobra than a bra ON it. Just one guy's opinion, but I always thought they were gay. While you're at it, don't forget about backing up beepers, door banger moldings, covers for the side view mirrors, special tri-effect wiper blades and the rest of all the possible "trick out" your Pony ****. Hey, whatever floats your boat, I guess :tmb:
