i use a full densecharger kit and i swear by it! i felt a huge "seat of the pants" difference after the install. my 98 cobra didnt come with a strut brace from the factory so i dont know about clearance issues. some strut brace companies claim they clear all cai's.

The '96 Cobra had a factory brace. Why not get one of these and a CAI for a '96 as it should be designed to clear.

96 and 97 came with the factory brace. but i dont want a factory brace. i would prefer kenny brown or max. motorsports.

I have a '97 and bought the meter forward Densecharger CAI. I felt the "seat of the pants" difference too!

Same here, but their claim to be able to adjust the elbow in the fenderwell is BS. There is no way there is room for it in there so I just modified and did away with it. Having the filter in the fender is definately the way to go. I do like the looks of the K&N FIPK better on my buddies Mach1, but when I emailed K&N they said they have no plans to create a CAI for our cars that goes all the way to the throttle body! :mad:

What is wrong with the factory brace? You will gain nothing by removing it and paying money to put on someone elses. Save the money and use it somewhere else in your mods.
