This morning, on my way to work, I took a corner a little too fast and rolled my '02 SVT Focus, two or three times. The car landed on the roof. I was able to unbuckle the seatbelt and crawl out my drivers side window (crushed to about a quarter of its original size).
I'm ok, with no injuries. I guess this goes to show that the car is a safe car. I WILL get another SVTF eventually (or RS :allhail: )
Pictures soon!
Take care

Breon,
Glad you're O.K..
Do you mine sharing the specifics of what actually initiated the rollover?
I.e., did it actually roll on level pavement or off camber, catch the shoulder or ?
I'm asking because many of the rest of us may be skirting a similar fate, so your feedback may help here!
Let me add/help, by commenting that I did, in fact, set a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo on its driver's door handles once. Specifically, I was out raising hell at night on a country road (i.e., no street lights) and had the car drifting around sharp right hander. Since the lights were off in the weeds I could not see the actual road @ one instance & made a mistake: I lifted. FYI to FWD brethren: If you lift in a power induced slide the tail comes right around! What happened next was a fairly lengthy slide (upright) sideways down the road (and I thought I was home free if only it would stop). Unfortunately, the tip of the front bumper JUST tagged one of those pesky little/low wooden guardpole things & that was enough to set the sliding car on its side. I (later) found it amusing to compare how far a car can actually slide on pavement on its sheetmetal vs its tires, but that's not the overall point (I think...) What I have to say is that the car really didn't roll when it got sideways, it slid (from probably 65 down to 20 mph or so) until it got the low contact from the guardpole.
So my question essentially becomes, if you get a Focus sideways on level pavement does it roll or slide?
