figure 6-8 pounds of boost
forged pistions? new headers of course
just stronger internal part?
can the svtf really handle the vortech?

it's a matter of the MAF sensor stops sending good ingo at 5800 RPM's and the injectors being at 100% capacity... Both being the cause of detonation in our cars...
I think the car could handle the Vortec if there were corrected and you found someone to make a custom program for the S/C'd engine!

A better performance intake manifold would help. Mine blew at 15000km and my engine is all stock. (except for the drop-in K&N, which doesn't count:bna ).

Whether or not the SVTF can handle the Vortech STOCK has yet to be proven. The way the Vortech kit sits now, NO. Now, with 50-55# injectors, a MAF, and custom tuning for the before mentioned, anything is possible. I feel as though 8#'s is about max for the car in terms of longevity and reliabilty. The 10.25:1 Compression ratio hurts more than it helps as far power with boost on pump gas goes.
having a built bottom end is ALWAYS a good thing when it comes to FI. With the weak pistons/botom end and high CR, it doesn't leave alot of room for tolerance as far as mistakes go.
I would wait it out and see how the tuning end pans out. Solving the MAF and fuel issue may cure it ailment, POSSIBLY.
I am working on an answer to this as we speak. More to come...

WoW, canadasvt you blew it at 15k km! how hard were you running it? and yea it would be nice to have a performance intake but too bad they don't make one for our cars yet!
A kit that includes all the parts needed to modify the engine to prevent it from blowing...otherwise I would not buy the supercharger kit.

Good word from the man upstairs:
"As of 3/25/2004...In order to make our SVTF systems more appealing, they will now be comming with 55 lb/hr fuel injectors (instead of the 42s), a Diablo Predator with the Vortech program pre-loaded and a 3-year limited warranty on the supercharger. The injector change allowed us increased mid-range power and increased RPM range, while giving you guys who want to do a few more mods later on some room to grow. Peak horsepower is the same. Pricing has also not changed. The Predator will be in the with the system, so no more sending in your ECU! All functions of the Predator will still be available. Ie., scanning check engine light codes. Now, go out and get one!"

Bad thing I don't see anything about the MAF being replaced! That is also a problem with the vortec system!

Why do larger injectors and not change what gives the injectors the signal to start with
Not adding a MAF to this is a bad move and still not the proper way to tune

At the time it blew I was driving out of the mall at about 15km/h reving maybe 2000rpm. Lemon part I hope.
As far as super\turbocharging a focus, I'd recommend www.seanhylandmotorsport.com for some answers. If you don't see what you want, email them and they'll give ya a good answer as to what you really need.

You'd have to ask the mechanic that disected it at the Ford Warranty Repair Centre for that info.
I just drive em, I don't fix em:bna
