WHY does Ford:
Rush cars to market before making sure they're ready?
Water-down their successful Euro cars when bringing them to N.America?
Kill the models when they've finally stabilized the product (Coutour, Probe, Cougar V6, SVTFocus). WHY? WHY? WHY?
Why don't they market their products properly?

The SVTF is a real winner. It beat all the Sport Compacts (when all things are considered). Why did they have to stop the model? What does the watered down 2005 regular Focus have to do with killing a Limited Edition SVT. Could they not have coexisted until they caught up with an SVT replacement for the new platform?

There was no need to kill the SVTF.

I still love my SVTF!

i like it actuaLLY,
nice limited car, NO ONE ELSE GETS TO DRIVE it lol
greedy but,
yeah ford could make a huge profit on keeping the car in production, fords HUGE as is so they dont have to make sense.
only car companies that are small and dont have a lot of capital need to make sense, ford can make and sell what it wants with no big impact

I went to the Oracle of all things automotive & received this response:

"Yours is not to question why, yours is but to stomp & fly."

Because they can't sell them...

Ford would have done much better in the US market if they offered the same car as the RS but in US specs....

My understanding is after the $$$ conversion the price is a hair more for much more performance!

Ford went half way cheap with the SVTF hoping to sell more and not loose money in the process thinking lower cost was the SELLING KEY!

I would have paid a few thousand more for a larger gain in performance! IE: forced induction, all wheel drive, different gearing, Heck for 300WHP I might have gone a lot higher in price!

I paid $20000 for mine (after the refunds of the warrenty I purchased) and I would have been happy paying $25,000 for a BADASS car that could spank the other cars in it's class! However Ford would have had to make some drastic improvements on the SVTF!

Well you really put your foot in it this time, Mr. Group Buy, because sooner or later, a deal needs to be cut on Vortech superchargers...

Since Hector's probably got a coffee cup @ CFM with your name on it, and they just happen to be THE place to go for a Vortech, I nominate you as our official negotiator.

You ain't spent $25K on that car yet!

Seriously, even if nobody's ready with the scratch yet, mayhaps we need a 6 pc. price????

I don't think I put my foot in the mouth as per say....

I can't come up with the additional money to justify the add on of the vortech! I wish to god I did but that won't happen for some time... As in 3-4 years before I have the spare cash laying around for it...

The big thing is.... I would have been willing to have a higher car payment and financed it into my car loan... Now that the car loan is sealed and done with, there is no funding for the goooooooooooo way fast add ons...

I will however speak with Hector about a group buy for anyone who wants to get hooked up with a supercharger! I'd be all the buyers and CFM's benefit as I'd just be the negotiator! As mentioned before... Funding won't happen on that for me... But the good relationship with CFM has made them my choice for furture parts...

As for a coffee mug, couldn't tell you... I'd guess they'd probably do some nice little perk to the "deal man" for this large 15+ person buy! If something is sent and they don't mind I'll post, however for their sake they might ask I not share that info... Which I'd respect...

You know... The SVT products here in Anchorage need to have a supplier that can hook em up! HINT HINT ON SPONSORING A CERTAIN SVT FOCUS... LIKE MINE! I'd love to plaster my supercharged SVTF with all sorts of company logo's... 3 letters, maybe a supercharger name brand, or focus-cen****, you know, if they'd like to have a SVTF with a "sponsored" supercharger in it! HINT HINT!!!

I know we all want to have that wish happen though!

LOL! :-) Let me know if you guys want to get something going on the vortech, and I'll do some discussing!

Of course you didn't put your foot in it, I just couldn't resist bustin' you.

Really, if the only thing we ever GB are the shifters & pedals, I'm happy with that.

To me, it proved that running with a good constructive (not to mention money saving!) idea was a whole lot cooler than the token Winter Blues WhineFest Threadbanging Jam BS that goes on @ times.

Remember: It was the Focus guys, not the Cobra guys, who worked together & pulled this off.

I think you broke the spell, as here it is finally above freezing & the white stuff is rapidly going away. Must have been the GB Karma.

Speaking for myself, I'm very grateful for this. Don't know why, but I thought this winter particularly sucked.

The group buy definately went better than expected.... I think it took all of 5 days to hit the 15 mark! Also looks like several others have purchased after friday! I'd bet that all 20 shifter that were available are gone and some people will have to wait for a little bit for the shipment of theirs....

Definately a great buy! Yep.... Us Focus guys seam to be killing the Cobra club with brotherhood... Looking at the amount of posts and then the GB's, to people helping people out of the kindness of their hearts!

GOT TO LOVE THE SVTF FAMILY!

I know it's all sappy!

I think it was your $70 price point that kicked ass.

The pedal 10% off may not be enough to pull the numbers- hopefully we'll get 10 takers. Mighta been 25 @ 20% off though. We'll see.

Apologies to the person who posted this thread- we tromped all over it with our GB banter. Sorry.

I have to agree with Bluetoy though- the SVTF is really appreciated by those who have them, but it's not like everyone's tripping all over themselves to get one.

Hate to say it, but I think the SRT-4 wizzed on our parade.

I agree the SRT-4 started pissing all over... However... Us who own the SVTF know that we could play with the SRT-4 any day of the week... Now yes, they'd beat us on a straight line, however the 1st corner, that'd be the end of it...

Darn those neons... We should burn them all! Actually the SRT-4 was the car that got me looking into the SVTF... If the dodge dealer would have had them available when I was looking then I would have never looked for a different car in the 1st place and would be a neon owner! EWWWWW!

So glad they wern't in stock when I was in the market!
