I got mine new in Aug 2000. I now have 36000 on it and only have had one problem. A wrist pin went causing a knock. It was fully covered under warrenty. I'm told that this MAY be caused by HARD right hand cornering. My guess is that the oil pump pickup is at the front of the engine and hard rights starve the engine for oil. My Auto-Xing may have something to do with this, but I have heard of others with the same problem who just drive hard on the street. There is an oil pan you can get with an extra baffle to stop this, but it would take me out of stock class, so I just put an extra 1/2 quart of oil in.

1999 with 50K. Driven daily to and from work.
Only problems were pinched valve in the transmission, dash replacement and IAC. All covered under warranty. Kudos to my local dealer as well for taking the car in and having it returned either the same day or next..:tmb:

As long as you get the water pump replaced with one with a metal impeller your golden. Otherwise your run a great risk of destroying your engin after 60k or even sooner. Other than that some argue that a DMD (dual mode dampener) is a necessity. But I have been super happy with my '00 SVT. Any questions feel free to drop me an email

Bought in June of 2000 new and now have 67K on it. Only problem was Tranny, but that was rebuilt under warranty at 15K. I only had stock warranty and I have taken it to IRP twice, Gingerman once, and Waterford once with 2-4 hours track time each and no oil/water pump problems at all. I drive it hard but don't abuse it (drag starts, etc.).
