I was thinking... Okay the SVTF is a great car... Hauls @ss and turns on a dime...

However like most cars they are a shell that when turned over, they crush and get all nasty!

I've thought a lot about how it could be possible to install a funtional roll cage into our cars! I don't see much of possiblilty however I've never done it before...

I saw one on ebay that had a roll cage in it, but the car was stripped out and I have no idea if it would have worked with the interior installed.

Just wondering if anyone has installed/fabricated one?

I think it'd be a great safety add on if done properly, however I'm sure some of you'd think it's ricy!

I'm military as I've mentioned before and when I asked my safety guy in my squadron about if there were any mil rules prohibiting us from racing vehicles, He said no (thank god) but did ask about safety features of the vehicle I'd be driving... One thing he asked was about installing a roll cage...

Like I said, it'd be much safer... and yes it is possible to roll our cars from playing to hard... They have solo II courses in the summer here as well as a drag strip... SO it is possible to be in a situation where it could come handy.

If you have one please post pics and some info on it. THANKS!

Steeda makes a roll cage that bolts or welds in a 4 point with keeping all seats.

and this is for our focus? Do you need to cut anything?

I looked on their site.... To get there...

www.steeda.com

Click on the road race link on the left

It's at the bottom.

Now the question is....

How much added protection would this add? It looks as though it only fits around the rear seats.

I emailed steeda about the roll cage yesterday and the guy said that you'd have to be a midget to fi tin the back seat with the roll cage installed...

I'm hopefully getting more info soon as I emailed him a few more questions a few minutes ago...

he wrote : "The cage has the hoop and back braces as described above plus tube that go forward from the main hoop to the upper corners of the front windshield down to the floor and a cross brace that connects them across the top of the windshield. There is a bar that runs front to back across the door opening on each side of car at seat level. It attachs to the main hoop and the front bar just below the dash.

Forget about using the rear seat unless your a midget."

I'm getting a fax sent to me with a diagram of the different roll cages they have for us and will post when I can get them scanned.
