Best oil to use?

I got a 2000 Cobra R.
What is the best oil to use? Mobile 1?
It has factory oil in it now only 77 miles on it with ford filter

I think it shows a Mobil 1 synthetic sticker on the valve cover. 15w-50 if I recall correctly.

Do you run it much? Turn it over by hand? If not I would drain what's in there. Add new oil. Run it for a good 10 to 20 miles, and then change it again with a new filter.

I see you have a few classics, so you probably already know how to take care of the powertrain.

Mobile 1 is best for performance.
It dont have a sticker another question on the filter it has a Motorcraft one is there a better more high performance one? its a 5.4 V8 32 valve best to get a new Motorcraft one?

It dont get ran much maybe twice a year at SVTOA events being only 300 made dont want to be to hard on it

I've been using the Motorcraft filter, FL-820S, from day one. 4.6l and 5.4l use the same filter.
The only thing I don't like about it is it's thin material, but it works.

I've been planning on changing to a remote mount filter using the heavy duty FL-1HP filter. Thicker material, and has a valve in it just like the stock filter. Need the remote to use it though.

Anyway, look forward to meeting you at an event this year.

I will go by Ford and get a new filter and Mobile 1 its a beautiful car what kind of hand wax do you use? I have ES performance red clearcoat I used Wax Shop clearcoat wax dont look good and was hard to get back off like a film.

What do you think is the best to use?

Did you do your oil change yet. I was getting oil for my '99 yesterday, and noticed 5w-50 and 15w-50. You may want to call up 1-800-FORD-SVT to get correct grade.

Changed it and filter.
It had a sticker next to the filler cap 15W-50.
I put Mobile 1 high performance grade 15W-50 and the right filter from Ford thanks for your help its much appreciated

Has a 10 quart oil pan.
Shes ready for some track time this summer

WOW, 15W-50. Is that what FORD requires for that engine?
If thats true I would use synthetic oil for sure(Amsoil)

The big 32 valve engine.
It uses 15w-50 Mobil 1 full synthetic racing oil it holds 10 quarts has special oil pan on it this motor filles up the engine bay
