OK, who has had experiences with the AEM CAI for the SVTF? Good or bad? Worth $222.24? (NOPI price) Is the gain really noticeable? Is it noisier? Is it causing the filter-oil-on-the-MAF-wire problem? Is the bypass valve compatable with the SVTF CAI kit? Any common installation problems? Special tools required other then the star/Torx bits? Thanks, y'all. Probably buying one next Friday...

I know that you can use a regular hex wrench to take the air filter box off... I did it and then put it back on 2 times...
My dealer says the MAS can have problems due to the oiled filer! K&N says it can't!

CAI can suck up water and cause hydrolock if you drive through deep water. (Happened to a friend in New England)
Re: "My dealer says the MAS can have problems due to the oiled filer! K&N says it can't!."
I had problems with my '91 "scort GT after I installed a K&N filter, (wouldn't start after driving for more than 15 minutes and smelled like the engine was flooded). Had to wait up to 10 to 20 minutes before the engine would fire up.
After discussing the problem with some SVTOA friends they think I wasn't allowing the filter to completely dry after cleaning and re-oiling. They think the oil contaminated the MAF sensor. I don't think I'll be using any filter that requires oiling on my SVTF due to that possibility. Also I'm not sure if the HP gains (if any) would be noticed on our 4-bangers.
I saw a test of an AEM CAI in European Car Magazine on a bone stock BMW; the performance improvement was substantial. I would like AEM's V2 for my SVT, but there is no application...yet.

okay... Difference in stock h/p and torque compairing a BWM to a SVTF???
Hell thats almost as bad as compairing the cobra to the SVTF!
IMO!

I am not sure if you are only interested in AEM, but I'm happy with my Steeda. If feels like there is a little more torque, but it's winter and I'm not sure if the short ram air styles will be effective with higher underhood temps.
For the dough, I'm happy with the results. I plan on taking it to a dyno day and verifying my impressions.
