I had a chance to meet Dan Gutterman at the SCCA awards banquet last weekend, where he spoke briefly about his plans. Scroll to the bottom of this page (http://www.wilsonmotorsport.com/public_html/code/maps.htm) for a track map. You'll notice not only the road course, but a 3/8mi. oval (whooptie-do) and a kart track (woohoo!). He told me the primary parking lot (along the northeast side of the strip) would be approximately 400'x1000' - plenty of room for autox. The park's website (http://www.tulsaracewaypark.com) is currently undergoing some changes, but yesterday I found some addition plans there, including new facilities with a concession stand and souvenir shop, concrete on the drag strip to the 330' mark, and a new 8000ft^2 control tower.
If Hallett, Gebhardt's JRP Raceway Park, and this track can co-exist, we will have 2 road courses, 2 kart tracks, 2 ovals (1 dirt, 1 paved), and a dragstrip within 40 minutes of Tulsa.

Hmmm...throw in the OKC driving range and an autox, and you'd have one heck of an event! Hmmm....
I forgot to mention the time table on the above. The track is scheduled for completion this August and will open with the start of the 2005 season.

If you look at the track map, they need to add a crossover before the oval. That way they could run the Road Coarse, the Oval and the drag strip at the same time.

The "24 Hours of Tulsa"???
Looks like this will be a GREAT facility for... OOhhhhh... say a "Triathalon-style" event ???
But dang guys... we need to get to Alan Wilson... so he can be SURE to design-in some "Dell Dips" somewhere... just to the inside of the track?? :p :tmb:

Thanks Jeff. It always makes me feel loved when that is brought up and I know that is what you are doing.
I am looking forward to test driving your car at Pikes Peak, so I can try out your seats.....

BTW that big wing will help with lift when I get the right altitude...

Does anyone remember the Real Street Eliminator that Car Craft used to do? We could have a similar event here and maybe even get SVT/SVTOA to sponsor it.
I wonder if the Mid America Shelby meet will still be at Hallett or if they will go for the all in one facility?
